David worked as a security guard in the Quantum Leap research facility; it was a top secret lab, where studies were conducted about secure data transmission, and particle teleportations. His work consisted in protecting the facility from any form of espionage.
One day, the chief scientist, Daniel N., announced that they managed to create a true worm hole, and to fire a stream of particles inside: that technology could lead to time travel, and to superluminal flight. Few days later, Daniel suddenly disappeared.
David had the duty to investigate about it, and, with that, the authorization to enter the laboratory; in an attempt to reconstruct last moves of Daniel, David activated one of his last experiments, and created a force field that open a portal: suddenly, he discovered what happened: Daniel has achieved time travel, and managed to access another era.
Quickly, a drone was sent in the past, to take photos of the place, returning with images that looked like a medieval city; a salvage team of five security guards was formed, leaded by David, and they entered the portal.
As soon as they got to their destination, they found the corpse of Daniel. After that, they were attacked by strange creatures, half humans, half reptiles. Soon they realized that they were not in the past, but in a parallel time line, where evolution had taken a different path, and human beings were not the only sentient creatures. They attempted a retreat, but the field generator, made with experimental technology, was pretty unstable, and when two guards tryed to trespass it at the same time, the field collapsed, overloading the generator and blowing its circuit.
David, as the leader, was going to be the last to cross the field, and so he got stucked in the alternate timeline. He knew he had no hope to be rescued: the generator was out of service, and the only man who know how to rebuild it was dead. So, now he is on his own, and he needs to find a way to survive in a world he knows nothing about.
