Intro:

Curtis sits on the floor in front of a small table. In front of him a small steaming cup of green tea and a rice ball. His eyes are closed as he lets the smell of tea and rice fill his senses. For the moment, everything is peaceful. It wasn't always like this, he was an upcoming "big shot" on wall street. One day as he watched the numbers rise, the hustle and bustle of people move around him, he realized something. He looked around and he saw all of the faces, gaunt old men, stern looking women, everyone's life revolving around the numbers. He knew that he couldn't keep living in this acidic world of cold cash and electric numbers.

Leaving wasn't as hard as you would think. He didn't have any real attachments or a particular direction. When the only path you see for yourself is "away", you don't really need a road map. He went to his apartment, cancelled his lease, donated most of his belongings to charity, and caught the next greyhound to where-everville. Where-everville just so happened to be Providence.

Today he lives a quiet life in a small house. Curtis meditates daily an effort in which he tries to keep his life on track. It's not about winning the rat race, its about enjoying it. Curtis runs his own tea shop in down town Providence, where he has a nearly unlimited assortment of tea.

In his free-time he studies Buddhism, exercises, volunteers for local charities, and enjoys live music at his tea shop and various other outlets around town. It's not much, but it's better than the life he lead before.
