One would assume incompetence of whoever would let a Chandelure into their walls - or at least, you'd think. In all respects, lighting your halls with one is said to make funerals a more common occurence, but that couldn't be more than any broken mirror, black cat kind of conjecture. Right?

In comes Wick, who - if he ever spoke up - would prove that such a thing isn't as wrong as the savvy would like to tell you.

Why, might you ask? The fact that one of Unova's most sucessful Trainers - and also one of it's oldest - and not only his fortune, but his posterity was essentially destroyed because of his simple mistake should tell you plenty.

Old Mr. Able, as he was known to the townfolk of the then-budding Icirrus City, was already a known name in a good part of Unova. Some knew him as Able A. Shone, but the full name was frequently ditched for just Old Mr. Able. He had pockets deeper than the Giant Chasm, a house of quite a respectable size, and frugality that would make an iron-hearted miser think twice.

Because of that, it soon became apparent what he didn't possess; lighting and heating. In Icirrus. The man was so frugal, he didn't pay a cent towards lighting and heating in a city known to get buried in snow.

He did have something that he thought to be a witty solution; a Chandelure. Heat and light that could follow him around and assist him in doing as he pleased, how wonderful! He had picked one up at the Celestial Tower as a Litwick and trained it all the way up to a Chandelure when he made for his estate after his travels.

The Litwick in question was Wick himself. He didn't speak up much, or make much of a fuss, but he did listen and watch. Listened to where he kept important things, what he thought of people, etc.

Needless to say, the man eventually passed on - fueling light Wick gave off. Important things were messed with - including the man's mind - and eventually they piled up into an uncontrollable and hellish disaster of a life. Same went for whoever got the inheritance - and whoever after that.

Soon, Wick was sitting on a massive fortune, with a proper place to dwell. Which - notably - looked fittingly haunting by the time he'd won the long chess game he played with Old Able's family. He had it all, basically.

Except, just like Old Able, something important; spirits to fuel him.

If they could ever find the remains, the curious would know Wick got a little more than just a spirit out of his favorite process...
