CrimsonLileth

“Liletha. That is my name. Hey...I heard you were pretty strong. And lucky for you, I love strong people. Would you like to spend a night with me~?”

Power is an amazing thing. The ability to exhibit your influence over your enemies, to hold their very existence in your hands to do with as you will, is as intoxicating as the most forbidden fruit. If you have power, you can defeat your enemies or create a large realm as your own. You can save lives, draw followers to your cause, create amazing magical items or forge weapons of mass destruction. You can bring the world into a time of peace and harmony...or engulf it in flames. The extent of your reach is exactly the same as how much power you have. And therefore, there is no shortage of those who chase after it fondly.

As for how you gain power, it's important to remember that a few important facts. And on this subject before anything else, it's important to dissolve all preconcieved notions made by optimistic introverted retards that screech: “If you put your mind to it and train hard there is no limit to how strong you can become.”

This is a complete lie. Your life has only as much worth as your bloodline, your race, your magical potential, and your physical strength can give you. Of course there are variables. If you train hard and you maximize your potential, you will be stronger than the average member of your race and as such you can accomplish great things. But this isn't going to stop a dragon from vaporizing you with a single gust of his breath. That is why when you walk into a cavern of which a dragon formerly filled it, you see charred corpses all over the walls. Bunch of overeager humans who thought they reached their potential throwing themselves at a creature with ten times the innate power than they had with predictable results. Their foolishness makes me gag.

So obviously, it's important to make sure to know your own strength. And to not punch above your own weight, regardless of how strong you think you are. Because at the end of the day, a diety can erase you from reality as easily as she can wave her hand.

There are two kinds of power that one should strive for. The indirect and the direct.

Indirect power is a way for even a weak person to accomplish vast things. Indirect power is the ability to extend one's influence over another being without being involved themselves and the easiest example over this would be a Queen over her nobles. The Queen rules at the head of an empire and as such, has her underlings that must do as she pleases. Thus, she holds indirect power over them. A power that can grow as she draws more and more underlings to her cause. And this is fine...as long as you can keep those under your influence in line!

And then there is direct power...and direct power is a wonderful thing. A power that I crave more than anything else. The ability to destroy and to create with your own hand....to wave your hand across a crowd and reduce them to dust with a single thought. That is true power. Even the greatest empires can be felled by the strength of a single goddess. And at a certain point, such a concentration of power within a single being can render indirect power virtually useless. Why have others do things for you when you can do it with a snap of a finger? At that point, holding indirect power over others becomes a means for entertainment and nothing more. Because no matter how strong they become, you can be at ease knowing they can never grow strong enough to touch you.

...That is...unless you are me. Then you can never be strong enough to be safe. Because at the end of the day, one night is all I need to take everything you are and make it my own.
