Once a sweet yet shy girl, Hannah grew up an only child, with no siblings and barely any friends. She kept to herself alot, and mostly stayed inside watching cartoons to pass the time. She would always fantasize about the different worlds and universes all those different characters were from, and wondered what it would be like to be part of their lives.
One of her favorite cartoons was the batman series, and unlike most kids who watched these shows and favored the heroes, she was more intrigued with the villains. And the one that stook out the most to her, was Clayface. He wasn't a major villain, and was easily thwarted everytime, but his powers and abilities are what caught her attention. It simply amazed her, to be able to change your form, be anyone, anyTHING you wanted, able to go through anything. It seemed pretty cool to her.
As time went on, more interpretations of the show came out, leading up to Batman Beyond, and once again she found a character similar to her first favorite villain. This time it was Inque, of similar nature and power. She became fascinated with her, and it rekindled her interests in Clayface even more, and something started to grow inside of her. A desire, if you will, to become just like them.
During her times at school, she would always be daydreaming about them, writing up stories, sketching pictures of them in her notebook, completely distracted from reality. However, this didn't do any good for her, as her odd behaviors and desires led to trouble for her. She was the target of all the kids to pick on in class, she was always bullied and sought after to be made fun of. Things never seemed to go her way, but she dealt with it, knowing it didn't matter. Eventually, someday, she would have her revenge on them all.
Fast forward a bit to present time, where Hannah is on a field trip with her class to a science lab. She was the one to actually suggest it to her teacher, who was more than happy to make the arrangements. She figured it was a good learning experience for her class, where as she didn't realize there was a deeper meaning into coming here. Hannah had done her research, fantasy or not, she found a rather prestigous lab that dabbled in experiments beyond anyones dreams, and she found out this lab had what she wanted. The chemicals needed to become just like the villains she oh so admired.
While the class was off on the main tour of the area, Hannah snuck off from the group and decided to do some exploring. Due to her shy and quiet nature, no one really noticed she was gone, so it made things easier for her. Moving through the lab, she eventually came upon a door labelled "Expermimental Chemicals, Keep Out!". Jackpot, she thought. She went for the door handle and turned it, sneaking inside and closing the door behind her. As she turned around, she could see nothing, the room was dark. She reached around and found a light switch, flipping it up to illuminate the room. Her eyes lit up as she saw all the different chemicals around her.
She began to walk around the room, examining each one, reading the different labels. Grow horns, lightning speed, super strength. It felt like she was actually in the cartoons she watched, it felt too unreal. Then she saw it, the one labeled "Shapeshifter." Her dreams were finally about to become a reality. She reached out for it and picked it up, holding it up to the light. Without a second thought, she opened wide and chugged the whole bottle, throwing the empty container to the floor. She stood there and waited, hoping something would happen. But nothing, almost as if it was a dud.
Heartbroken and disappointed, she picked up her bag and went for the door. As she opened it, two guards were standing in the doorway with their arms crossed. Apparently Hannah tripped an alarm when she picked up the bottom. The two guards reach out to grab her, but she quickly ducks and runs past them. As she runs down the hall, gates begin to descend from the ceiling, slowly closing off her escape. She soon finds herself cornered, turning around to see the smug guards approaching her, getting ready to make their move. With no way of escape, all she could do was back up against the gate and hoep someone would come to help her.
As they got closer, and she backed up further, she felt all was lost, when suddenly something strange happened. A sharp pain struck her in the stomach, and she bent over, screaming and crying out in distress. The guards were a bit thrown off by this, and backed up a bit, not sure how to react. After a few moments, Hannah stood up, though something was different. She lifted her head, but that quiet shy expression was no longer there. Instead, she had soulless eyes, and a terrfiying grin that stretched from one corner to the other.
She waved at the guards with her overly long sleeved arms as if to mock them that she was leaving, and took a step back. To their horror and shock, rather than bump into the gate, Hannahs body oozed and squelched right through it, seeping through the gaps and holes, and reforming on the other side. When she was fully through, she turned back and licked her lips before walking away, knowing they'd never catch her. She walked outside of the building, admirning her new body and laughing to herself. It was time for the revenge to begin. ~
