Personality

Gruff and abrasive like the sands of a desert, Cordelia takes... effort to actually get to know, and yet more to get on her good side. To strangers, she doesn’t make any attempt to avoid hurting feelings or otherwise stepping on toes, being almost painfully blunt with what she says and how she says it. If she warms up to someone, however, they'll find that she is violently protective of her friends, passionately in love with any sort of fire or explosion or a weapon that combines the two, and in general has a personality as fiery and volatile as the weapons that she carries. She has a rather morbid sense of humor, giving hearty guffaws at stories that end with someone being hurt so long as they deserved it in some way, and oftentimes even if they don’t.

Abilities and Anatomy

Physical Abilities: Several years spent lugging a large cannon around, fighting, and doing other such mercenary work (Even with the protection provided by the Judges and Clans) have left Cordelia with a toned, fit, and resiliant like most Bangaa that choose similar lines of work.

Magical Abilities: None. Bangaa are notoriously bad with magic, and Cordelia is no exception. Besides, it's not like sparkly spells can match the heat and flash of a high explosive shell.

Background

Born the smallest of her clutch, from a young age Cordelia heard the siren’s song of battle that appealed to so many Bangaa and set out to make her own living through combat the very week she turned 14 and the Judges allowed it (Ivalice having rather lax laws on how old one needed to be a mercenary.) The sight of it then must have been something, with the female bangaa choosing at first to wield a heavy spear that seemed to be bulkier than she was. With her first clan, a mostly Human and Vierra group known as the Green Blades, she was restricted mostly to cooking, cleaning, and other menial yet safe jobs for such a young ‘warrior,’ but her spirit never waned and she practiced with that spear of hers every chance she could.

Over the coming years she grew harder, bigger, and managed to barge her way into combat on more than one occasion without the blessing of her clan leaders, completely ignoring tactics so that she could ‘stick those damn beasts with the pointy end’. Her recklessness would eventually get her kicked out of the Green Blades, and that marked the last point of relative stability in her life thus far.

Now, Cordelia is no stranger to the clans and the conflicts that they deal with on an almost daily basis. She’s spent seven long years fighting monsters, catching criminals, and getting into scuffles with other parties almost as often as she meets them. Generally Cordellia will join up with a clan, who are thrilled to have someone of her abilities along, but doesn’t manage to stick around for more than a few months before parting ways. More often than not, such partings end with a long string of shouts and insults between her and all the other clanners whom she managed to piss off during that timeframe.
