As it might be noticable, Connie is a living breadgirl. Science does crazy things, huh? She doesn't remember much about her creation (Supposedly some scientists and bakers were trying to create self-replicating food, as well as sentient food.), but whatever the process that created her was, it also gave her the ablity to regenerate and reform lost parts of her "body.", and may even be able to regenerate from a single crumb! As such, she's able to quite literally sell herself, travelling to numerous bakeries across the land to make money. She doesn't really like doing it, but it's better than being broke.
