Claire

Another entry in the Grimoire.

Art by the incomparable Joe_Tifanel, who agreed to let me use it. Thank you!

"Don't move, hands where I can see them! Put down the rabbit-girl and no one gets hurt!"

"Hey, bitch, want a treat?"
"I bet you look real good in heat!"

Work as a cop long enough, and you figure you hear every stupid line in the book thrown at you. It's a little worse when you're a dog-gal, though. They do get a bit more creative, though no less annoying.

Claire Donovan has seen more than enough of the scummy side of things in her years on the force. Though still only a patrolman, she's been recognized for the specialties and talents that her canine heritage bring her, and has been used on vice, homicide and theft investigations, her keen nose and cool head giving her a strong advantage over both her fellow officers and the criminals she tracks.

The dog-girl cop cuts a striking figure. Brown hair, which fades to black at the tips, hangs just past her chin. A pair of pointed, alert looking ears keep from the top of her head, swiveling to track any sound that catches her attention. She's not too imposing at first glance, standing perhaps five and a half feet tall, but she carries herself with a surety and confidence that gives her a somewhat authoritative air. What may spoil it somewhat is the substantial bust that she keeps tightly-packed under her uniform, and the well-curved hips that strain her standard issue slacks quite noticeably. A long, bushy tail sways behind her, a good indicator of her current mood, colored with the same tawny brown fur, and tipped in black, like the ends of her hair.

Almost always clad in her navy blue police uniform, she's usually seen fully kitted. A radio (with shoulder mounted speaker), a semiautomatic pistol, chambered in 9mm, is kept in a holster on her right hip, along with two spare magazines for her weapon. Handcuffs, a flashlight, pepper spray and a tazer are also secured on her belt, and she even has zip ties, for any further needs disable and capture perpetrators.

As a canid-spliced human, Claire is quite capable of capturing and holding suspects internally for later release into holding chambers back at the station or jail, and is licensed for such apprehensions. Practice and training means her capacity is substantially larger than you'd guess from her size. She can easily deal with carrying someone substantially larger and heavier than her, or even multiple smaller targets. Claire is stronger than her size and build would suggest, but not to an incredible degree. She is also somewhat faster, and has greater stamina reserves than your typical human. All of these things are only further heightened by her training and practice. She regularly takes digestion-halting drugs while she's on duty, as digesting suspects without trial is frowned upon in polite society.
