These two ladies are indeed humanized versions of the Alicorn Sisters from Equestria, though..unlike most versions of themselves. They don't even REMEMBER where they came from.
Due to an attack from their enemy Chrysalis they were transformed from their pony selves into the states you see before you.
But while their memories were being drained unknown to Crysalis their magic had reformed into a pair of charms one of a golden sun and one of a silver crescent moon and Celestia's had lit up flashing as the two victimized violated women vanished out of Chrysalis' reach once and for all.
They landed in the park, Celestia unconcious and smoking from the magical discharge as Luna did her best to keep an eye on her sister while sorting through what was left.
The two remembered they were princesses, of where they didn't know, and that they were sisters Celestia the elder one, and each had a connection to a different celestial body. But their magic was gone for the most part, and neither remembered their true selves or their home.

LitchiFayeLing who found the two weak needy women and took them into her clinic letting them rest. In return once both were safe and back to full strength, they offered to work with the doctor as her assistants.
They are very happy this way and don't have any plans to leave anytime soon~
