The Rise of the legendsIn most lands, people have tales of fearsome beasts, flying around and stealing princesses to give knights reason to go upon an epic quest to reunite the kingdom with their only heir; for some it give purpose to the prince who has lost his tenacity for ruling his inheritance. This land though it is more common to be part beast than to be entirely human. Humans are the rarest commodity and treated like rubies or gold. Though their lifespans are drastically different thanks to magic and evolution alike, humans still carry the shortest lifespan among mammals in this realm. With many fiends and demons striving to rule the lands only the purest of beasts rule over the kingdoms with an iron thumb, or in this case a fiery roar. Dragons are the strongest forces among any other kind, they also were known as the first species to blend in with humans and breed with them. Dragons soon could hide in a compact form thanks to breeding with the humans also giving the weaker species the longer lifespan. The two races often lived together, one serving the others. Dragons shared their wealth, health, and often their beds with humans as they provided a stable livelihood, women, and traditions. Though not all kingdoms were as willing to have humans being their bearers of children and sold humans as a commodity until the War of Rights came upon the kingdoms. Humans of all kind were sold as slaves for the enjoyment of those more powerful. Elves used humans as whores to appeal to the other races not to treat elves as such since they were close kin. Vampires used them as emergency meals so they wouldn't have to stoop so low as to suck animal's blood. Werewolves, or commonly known as gladiators would feast upon human prisoners as to keep their animalistic characteristics alive. Dragons of the foulest notions would hunt humans for sport when their "usefulness" would run out. Now to be fair it wasn't the majority of the kingdoms that acted in such a way to the precious commodity known as mankind, but it was enough that rogues would kidnap humans from other kingdoms to sell them for a fortune. When a princess was taken from her arranged marriage is when war was declared and lasting decades until mankind was saved and endangered. The Present DayThe precious resource known as man is still safe, though they are often "free ranged" as per the agreements of the kingdoms. They could serve whom they wished, when they wished as long as they provided their kingdom with requirements. These would be children, specifically females to the kingdom of their choosing. Each King assigns a specific number of girls to be born in a family, but boys aren't casted out so easily. Many men often are scholars of magic, knights, but the rare commodity of women make them precious with their gift of life of many species. Some kings require families to have two girls while other dire lands demand six. The variation makes kings or families trade. Sometimes women will consent themselves to orgies in hopes to rebuild the human population once more as wizards, mages, and sorcerers look into magic to enforce those with child to have only so many girls before they can have a man. Carmen Fletcher is a simple little farmhand and is one of the humans. Though she lives out in the open she has yet to pledge herself to any kingdom near her. She is more focused on the livelihood of her family as her mother passed away from an illness. Her older sisters have pledged to the kingdom that will help the family if they bare girls, but none have come so far. Carmen on the other hand is a virgin, saving herself for the special moment she will find her love as strange as that sound during these tempting and demanding times. Carmen is in high hopes that with her skills she'll know which kingdom is the best for her. |
