Calvatia

Calvatia never saw things quite the same as others of her kin. While Faries are usually mischevious, carefree sprites that protect the innermost precious secrets of the forrest and the kind of magic that lay dormant within it, Calvatia took her line of work of "Protector" quite seriously. Putting aside the quips and taunting brought onto her for her rather, forward way of thinking, Calvatia refused to share the same attitude as that the others. Keeping her head out of the clouds and one foot on the earth grounded her, giving her more understanding of her duties and how to use the same kind of power to her advantage. Although being one of many, the faries all share the exact same, common goal. "To Protect the Fairy Spring". A small, endless body of water with enough magical power to create miricles. Grow to many times your own size, shrink down to the size of a harvest mouse or heal all your wounds instantly. If anyone knew how to utilize the magic within, the sky's the limit. Knowing this was more than enough of a reason for Calvatia to take initiative, dedicating much of her time mixing complex potions and casting spells no fairy would dare learn.

Although small, her understanding goes beyond her quaint, isolated home, knowing full well of the humans and beasts of unimaginable size that roamed the land over yonder. Matching such traits was an easy task. With the help of the spring, her alchemy as allowed the little fairy to go higher, much higher than the tops of the trees, for example. Altering size was her speciality, either shrinking down enemies and hunters to bite sized little snacks to making herself large enough to devour dragons and giants alike. Her appetite was renowned among the others as most intruders or adventureres bearing ill intentions almost always found themselves in the pits of her magical stomach, melting away or simply just sealing them long enough to have them learn a lesson. Calvatia's name comes from a mushroom that frequently grew in the surrounding forest, its large, rounded shape matched that of her ample rear or distended stomach after a meal, that the similarities birthed her unusual name.
