The self proclaimed 'Guardian of Humanity, humanoids, and all sentient creatures.' It remains to be seen exactly how interested in protecting those weaker than her she really is, or if glory, fame, and the rewards that come with them are her true motivator. In any case, she has proven herself an adept leader, building the corps up from a small party of optimistic adventurers to a major mercenary corps called on by kings and minor villages alike when protection or intervention are the order of the day.
Sheena Ainsworth

Sheena is Amelia's closest friend and the de facto second in command of the Blackstar Corps. Her sword, the Yen'qir is a magically imbued blade, and it remains to be seen how she came into possession of such a unique and powerful weapon. The prevailing gossip is that she won it in either a duel, or as the result of the ill-considered bar betting of its previous weilder. If she's asked about it though, she simply smiles, and quietly leaves the question unanswered.
Renka Shan'tei

Renka is a member of a rather ecclecting order of spellswords, mages who have turned the arts of conjuring and imbuement into an augment to the martial arts of swordsmanship. He strike with her blade is deadly, and her elemental magics dazzle, but when they are combined, that is when her true power shines forth. She is one of the longest serving members of the Corps.
Meridia Saxton

The youngest Blackstar Corps officer, Meridia Saxton found herself born with strong innate magical abilities. A prodigy even without these powers, she devoted much of her young life studying and honing her skills, as well as various ancient texts. Her magical spells are in fact quite powerful, but even with her staff, she finds difficulty in controlling them on occasion. Renka and even Azmyrah have taken to sometimes tutoring or consulting with her on this problem, but like the rest of her life, no one has really taught her how to appropriately deal with strangers, or even some friends. Although a fierce and sometimes agressive foe on the battlefield, she is one of the shyest members of the corps.
Azmyrah

Azmyrah is perhaps the most surprising member of the Blackstar Corps. Encountered when the group answered a bounty to deal with some cultists, known for kidnapping and sacrificing young girls to please their god. When they arrived at the cultist's sanctum, all that they found was a path of destruction. Some bodies broken and turned to crystal, others missing entirely. When the group rushed into the group's altar, they found the cult's leader, half turned to crystal and begging for mercy as she was pulled into Azmyrah's maw. After a bit of a tense standoff, the team and Azmyrah game to an understanding. She claimed to be the half dragoness daughter of a mighty guardian dragon, and a somewhat "grateful" adventurer she'd seen fit to lie with centuries ago. In an effort to improve her standing among the full blooded members of her brood, she set out on her own, seeking out those that would impose their power on others. An adjunct member of the corps, Azmyrah's powers are at their disposal to hunt down their targets and dispose of them as necessary, though her own motivations sometimes tend to take a priority to her service.

Liniel "Linny" Erias

Liniel, known as "Linny" among some her closer corpsmates, is Blackstar's resident infiltration, stealth, and "acquisitions" expert. In short, she's a thief. Officially, she's a contract member, a mercenary to the mercenaries, but in reality, she feels that she owes a debt to Amalia, and while she goes on about her own self interests, the members of the team who know her more closely know there's a little more to the sticky-fingered half elf than she'd ever admit. Like a lot of crossbreed children, she's never felt fully accepted by either set of her people. She spent a long portion of her early life keeping her head down, or at least outof the way, learning early on how to avoid drawing attention. Her senses are quite sharp, and her expertise in hiding has also made her an expert in spotting and seeking as well. Of all the members of the unit, with the possible exception of Melliana, Liniel is the hardest to sneak up on or hide from.
Melliana

Meliana was a member of her city's guard, on track for captain actually, when she left to join the Blackstar Corps. Her reasoning was simple. She felt she could do a lot more good out on the offensive than waiting for something to go wrong and dealing with it after the fact. The rather enhanced paycheck didn't hurt either, even though at least half of it tends to find its way to those she finds need it more than her. While most of Blackstar's elite members are generally good natured, Meliana's rather stoicpersonality strikes some of them as foolish idealism. Despite any questions they might have though, few would tell you there was anyone else they'd rather have watching their back in a fight. Melliana is the first one in, last one out, whenever she can get away with it. She sees the safety of her companions as much her job as the contract or the innocents they watch over.
Her armor is the ultimate exercise in tradeoffs, heavy plate covering most obvious or vital areas, while leaving the rest lightly covered or exposed for lightness and flexibility. Melliana relies on her feline agility, and her massive shield, to augment her armor, and it's given her the repuation of being a walking tank. Stories are told among the enlisted ranks and civillians alike of Mel takng a thousand arrows, or a direct blast from the breath of a dragon, only to walk away with not even a hair out of place. No doubt exaggerated, the presence of these stories still serves to illustrate precisely how skilled she is at protecting herself and others.

Sekime is effectively the most novice member of the Corps' elite team, though her elven age does make her older than Meridia. She is also by far its best archer. Showing immense natural skill at an early age, she was pushed into an agressive training regime in her kingdom. She was attached to an special squad full of much older and more experienced members than herself, and they perhaps relied on her too much. Without warning, the squad was ambushed on a rescue mission. Though her response was quick, she was not able to save the squad's lead members with her covering fire, and for that she was detached from the unit. Pushed into a remedial unit, she left her station, and signed up with the corps.
