History
It was a normal day in Nexus Park. The sky changed color slowly starting with blue, yellow, red. A large meteor streaked through the sky impacting the ground with a huge sonic boom. The meteor hit the ground sending ejecta all over the nearby area. The trees began to burn from the heat. From this ejecta, a single large seed pod drifted into the sky. It wasn't affected by the heat. As the seedpod landed further away from the impact point, roots grew out of the pod's body to implant themselves into the ground. For most beings, it was just another plant. It grew rapidly over the next week due to rather rich fertilizer and the nearby lake.
This plant wasn't what one would call normal. While most would consider it to be a nice flower, it was more like a flytrap. The plant's appetite was ravenous as it fed upon the local population. These populations began to dwindle assuredly.
More weeks passed as it continued to grow. At about five feet, the plant stopped growing. Its stem flexed about connecting to the local flora. The plants would respond seeming to aid visitors to its digestive area. The plant was rather elastic expanding over them. This elasticity allowed it to expand to eat creatures many times larger than itself.
The sentient plant wasn't looking to invade the planet. One of it wanted was to create offspring. New plants would grow in the presence of one of these plants. Many new varieties of flowers would bloom in their vicinity. Still though, how did one of these things begin to spread? They seemed to be everywhere within the park, and if you're not careful, you're lunch.

Powers and Abilities

Lifeform Detection - The plant had many methods to find meals. It could be as simple as detecting sound waves on its petals. It could actually communicating with nearby plants for heat signatures. Yes, it can communicate with plants. Deal with it.

Seedpod Injection - It was always on the lookout for new hosts. These plants could then use the host to spread its offspring into the others. Once the plant has a potential host nearby, a root will tear itself out of the ground. Then, it would thrust itself into the chest of the host inserting three of the plant's seeds into the body. Along with the seeds, a paralytic venom would seep into the body. After a relatively quick gestation period, the host dies as the plants take root inside. The seeds stay with the corpse and feeding off of it. The growing plant implants itself into the ground where it died.

DNA Transfusion - There was another option that the plant had. It was when the plant finds a host, the plant could offer the host to work for them via telepathy. The plant would then proceed to gulp the person down into the plant pod. The pod would fill with a transformative liquid. The host would begin to take on plantlike features. This transformation granted the being with increased speed and power. The speed and power boost averaged twice as fast and strong as another furry. The being would develop the ability to root itself into the ground. It could send a root tentacle out through the tail hole and implant into the ground. The host also received the use of two 10' long 1" wide wrist tentacles in which to do... things. The host can receive nutrients via any of the roots or wrist tentacles. Unfortunately for the person who recieved this transformation, it wouldn't stop. They would eventually become like the plant itself.

Attraction Pheromones: The plant could sending pheromones over a large area to attract prey.

Regeneration - If harmed, the plant will regenerate back to normal after a day.

Stretchy - The plant is able to stretch itself over a prey at least twice its size.

Telepathy - It can send basic messages or images to those nearby. These were short and quick.

Tentacles - It has three thick 20' 1.5" thick tentacles to grab prey with.

Root of Death - Sometimes when the plant needed food, it would just devour the innards of those nearby. Using its tentacles, the plant would wrap up its prey. Forcing one of its root down the prey's throat, it acidifies the innards of the one caught. Then, it would just suck it up.
