Raised by a race of short, amphibious fish-people, Azul quickly figured out that he wasn't like the rest of his family. ...Kinda hard to not notice that you match your parents' height at age 5, then tower over them at age 8. Due to his rapidly-increasing height (in comparison to his peers), Azul found it harder to adapt to his life among his adopted family. So, he decided to leave home to find his proper place in the world.

Though, being half-shark doesn't give one many options. Most everyone at the beach he found himself at decidedly left when a little shark kid suddenly washed up on shore. ...Aaaand I guess swallowing that bikini-clad swimmer didn't help his case either. Still, Azul managed to survive for the next few years, and at around age 12, he made his presence a bit more known by adventuring outside of the ocean. Thankfully, by then people had forgotten about the 'killer shark kid' on the loose.

Having to take care of himself for about four years, Azul's gotten a bit full of himself, thinking that he's the toughest guy around for living on his own at such a young age. ...But really, the kid's kind of a goofball. Even after that brief scare, no one takes him seriously nowadays, no matter how 'fearsome' and 'threatening' he tries to be. Sure, he can swallow a man whole, but most still see him as a cute young kid in swimming trunks, despite the washed-out blue skin, razor-sharp teeth, and surprisingly strong tail.
