History:

The eldest daughter of a noble family, poor Ayla was never quite what her parents wanted. Instead of a prim and proper young lady they could strategically marry off, they got an anxious wreck that, while beautiful, could barely carry on a proper conversation with would-be suitors. After some years and much humiliation, Ayla's family decided to effectively wash their hands of her and send her to a convent to become a cleric. More coming soon!

Personality:

At first pass, Ayla seems like a total wallflower: She's tall, awkward, and none-too-skilled at conversation. If she's not tripping and stumbling over her own words at high volume, she's mumbling under her breath and avoiding eye contact like the plague. Most assume the awkward and shy healer girl to be totally harmless. They assume wrong. Ayla harbors a dark side with lust, obsession, and a hunger for control lurking just beneath her surface. The young cleric is prone to fits of infatuation, falling madly in love (or some approximation of it) with those who may cross her path. The reason may vary, but the outcome is often the same: Wherever they go, Ayla typically isn't far behind- watching, scheming, dreaming, awaiting the perfect opportunity to make them hers~ Whether Ayla bends the object of her affections to her will through extortion and blackmail or simply striking while their guard is down, she ensures they won't be going anywhere until they get to know her in intimate detail, inside and out...

It's unlikely Ayla has the self-awareness to properly know herself, but in the end, Ayla's strange and unhealthy behaviors stem from deeply rooted feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness. Deep down, she yearns for companionship and romance, yet the idea she could be likable or desirable totally eludes her.

(( Additional Notes to be incorporated later: Given her subconscious belief nobody could ever truly love her, Ayla seeks to secure the affection of others through complete and total dominance over them. Even if they say to her face they despise her, it's easy for Ayla to cling to her delusion that they haven't accepted their true feelings for Ayla when there isn't anything they can do to escape her domination. Conversely, Ayla's prey voicing such opinions when she has no way of easily controlling them tends to bring out the very worst in her and she can quickly spiral into malicious sadism as she tries to seek out whatever it is that will bring the subject of her twisted desired under her heel... ))
