Description:
Awai Hikari, or Kari for short, often appears to be a human girl in her late teens, but is in fact a sword spirit. This means that her true form is a sword, wielded by Kyle_Dedrick. She appeared mysteriously in the young man's possession a few years ago, and has been with him ever since. Even the two themselves aren't entirely sure where she comes from, but they know that they are permanently connected somehow.
UPDATE: Kari is now a mother! She and Grey_Kage are the proud parents of a Soul Fairy named Sun.
Powers:
Even when she's in human form, both Kari and Kyle are capable of summoning Kari's sword form. It is from this sword that they gain their powers. It has three forms:
Sleeping: In this form, Kari appears to be a normal katana, but pure white in appearance and with a keychain attached to the end. In this form, Kari has no special abilities of note, but increases Kyle's physical abilities beyond their normal limits, making him stronger and faster than normal. Kari is not necessarily actually sleeping in this form, and can communicate with Kyle through thoughts. Kari will never wield this form when she is a human, since she has to be in the awake state in order to take human form.
Awake: Upon being called by Kyle, Kari fully awakens, causing the blade of the katana to burst into white flames. These allow Kyle to perform several powerful fire attacks, and the light from the flames dispels all illusions. When she's a human, Kari's sword will default to this form.
Ultimate: Kyle and Kari have not yet learned to access this form, but they know if its existence and are working on it. Once fully acquired, it will show Kari's true, most powerful form, called Kuro to Awai Raito, or "Black and Pale Lights." In this form, a second blade is formed. It is identical to the first, except that it is pure black instead of white. The flames burning on it are also black. This form greatly boosts Kyle's physical abilities, especially his speed, to beyond human levels. Additionally, if the black flames and white flames ever touch each other, they explode violently, making them useful for powerful attacks.
Personality:
Kari, when in human form, is generally overly friendly, hyperactive, and childlike. Even in battle, she treats it more like a fun game than a life-or-death situation. However, she won't hesitate to strike down most opponents if need be, though she'd prefer to leave them alive unless they were some sort of monster. However, when her final form is activated, Kari's personality changes dramatically. One of her eyes turns pure black, and black angular lines stretch out from it across her body. In this form, she is a killing machine. She doesn't understand using the final form for demonstration purposes or for a friendly duel... If she's in that form, it's because it's time to kill something, and that's exactly what she'd going to do. Afterwards, she will remember the battle, but won't remember acting any differently than she usually does...
Kari is permanently connected to Kyle, and can sense his thoughts over great distances. She can also teleport to him if need be, but only if called. Since this is the case, she often spends time exploring apart from him. However, she requires energy from Kyle in order to exist. Since she can not take this energy in human form, her time in this form is limited. She has a few days time to spend apart before she will be forced back into sword form, but she can also attain some energy through... Alternate methods.

Bonds:
Kari is capable of forming weak magical bonds with the people she meets. These bonds, when strong enough, can unlock new powers for her. There are four levels, each detailed below.
No bond: The state at which people she's just met or doesn't like will be at, no connection at all.
Forming bond: The bond she has with people she likes. It grows stronger the more she interacts with them, but will grow weaker if she doesn't see them for awhile or if they do things she doesn't like. The bond at this point cannot be detected except by those with extremely keen magical senses.
Locked bond: A fully formed bond, now detectable to both Kari and the other person. This level of bond will unlock one of Kari's new weapon forms, (Unless they have all already been unlocked) And will not decrease with time. It can still be severed, but only if something happens to make Kari fully renounce her friendship with the other person.
Max bond: A bond that can only be initiated by Kari herself. This level of bond will allow the other person to wield all of Kari's powers when she's in her weapon form. However, it also makes them one of her wielders, which means she will be forced to obey their commands, no matter what they are. The commands of her original wielder Kyle will always overwrite all others. She will never employ this bond while expecting it to be permanent... Simply allowing her friend to borrow her power for a short time if they need it. However, once it is formed, she cannot sever it, only the other person can. As a result, she'll be completely at their mercy until the bond is released. Therefore, creating this bond is the greatest profession of trust and friendship that Kari can perform.

Alternate Forms:
Kari can actually transform into other types of weapons as well, and she has only recently discovered this ability. As Kari forms bonds with others, her new forms will unlock. Additionally, for each weapon transformation, her human form is slightly different as well. Her unlocked forms will be shown here.
Her bow form is a powerful ranged weapon, capable of firing arrows made of pure white flame at targets, even great distances away. The bow can also enhance normal arrows, giving them more stopping power, but shorter range. In her ultimate form, half of the bow is black, and the arrows fired will continue in a straight line forever until they hit something, at which point they promptly explode powerfully.

Human (Bow):
Her personality in this form is much more refined. She acts older, and has the appearance to match. She's fiercely loyal to her friends as well. Her form has an elvish look to it, though she still appears young for an elf, perhaps the equivalent of her late teens or early twenties.
A powerful rifle capable of firing both normal bullets and bullets made of concentrated flame from her power, the rifle has some serious power and accuracy behind its shots. Its drawback is its poor firing rate however. The rifle doesn't have an ultimate form as much as an ultimate attack: The Meaning of Assault, a powerful ability which creates forty-one clones of the rifle, for a total of forty-two including the original. These clones float magically around her wielder, and fire with the main one that he holds, covering a small area in a hailstorm of bullets.
Human (Rifle):
Her rifle personality is similar to her sword form's, but older. She's less prone to childish outbursts, though they still happen from time to time, especially with close friends. She's slightly easier to anger though, but just as easy to make up with. Finally, she's a bit more cautious of strangers in this form, often seeming distrustful of people she doesn't know well. For some reason, she feels more human in this form, and uses it often.
Kari's dagger form is a weapon of stealth. While it is capable of creating white flames like Kari's other forms, it is also capable of absorbing light and heat. This makes the wielder nearly invisible to both the naked eye and thermal imagery. When stabbing someone, the dagger can either suck the heat out of them until they freeze to death, or release all its stored heat to vaporize them. A silent, slow death... Or an instant flashy one. It all depends on the situation...

Human (Dagger)
Kari's neko form! Unlike her weapon form in this set, the dagger, her neko form enjoys being flashy and showing off. Particularly when it comes to her body. Yeah... The kitty's pretty much a slut. Despite still being in a relationship with Grey, she can't help but show off for the guys a bit. The good news is, she can manage to stay out of their beds at least. Except maybe in the case of a good friend... But what friend would take advantage of her like that right?
Throwing Knives:

Kari manifests herself in this form as a pouch of throwing knives, capable of regenerating more knives infinitely. Old knives will disappear, but only if there is no longer a use for them. The knives burn those who they hit, but they need to hit vital areas to cause any real damage. To help this, this form increases the general throwing accuracy of its wielder. Additionally, placed knives can form a sort of tripwire between them, which when triggered causes a small but bullet-like fireball to travel between the two knives, striking whoever or whatever triggered the trap.

Human (Knives):
In this form, Kari's personality is much the same as her rifle form, as is her appearance... Other than the fact that she wears lighter clothing in this form. The main difference is that five of the knives can all transform into humans at once, creating several Kari-Clones! They all think exactly the same way, and so often say the same thing at the same time. However, they have different memories, so one will not remember something said privately to another. Once Kari changes forms and all five merge together, the memories do as well. This can get confusing for her, especially if her clones were far apart from each other, so they usually tend to stick together.
Longsword form:

A powerful sword that only Grey can wield, it is made to be usable in both one hand and two handed fighting styles. A clever fighter switches between the two styles with ease while using this weapon. Its outer surface seems to ripple and flow as though it is covered in a liquid, and it can change its shape slightly at will. Finally, this form also gives its wielder various fire magic spells.
Longsword (human):
Kari takes the form of a dazzling young beauty when using her longsword form. Her hair seems to shimmer, and her eyes shine. In this form, she's very levelheaded, and kind and caring to everyone... Save those she considers her enemies. She personally thinks this is her most beautiful form too... Not that she goes around flaunting it or anything.
Dark Form:
Dark Flames:
Kari's dark form, wielding her own dark weapon form, created when she was forced to absorb a piece of onyx by DoctorBeta. In this form, she's far less friendly, in fact, she's borderline sadistic. Additionally, her powers change greatly. Instead of her usual white flames, they are a bluish-purple color. They exchange their illusion shatter ability for the ability to instantly transform into crystal, making it easy to both burn and trap opponents. Her odd clockwork-like crystal wings do not allow her to fly, but increase her speed considerably. They are fragile, but easily regenerated.
