Who's the git with the eyepatch--
WHERE'S MY PROFILE??
==============================
In actuality, I'm pretty sure that's not an eyepatch, that's an altered pair of sunglasses or somesuch. Certainly looks the part, though. But, at any rate, sirens. Usually, the legendary song-related beast women take up one of two forms, depending on the story, mythology, whatever the hell. One variety of siren has them taking up an avian form, similar to that of harpies, or closer to something akin to angels. The other variety has them akin to mermaids or otherwise maidens of the sea. The main thing in common for both is that they tend to be depicted as songstresses, using their voices to captivate people into doing their bidding. In most cases, their bidding consists of leading people to their doom because popular opinion dictates that beings with a vaguely human form or humanoid parts without being human are douchebags.
As with many common siren interpretations, Aurora has two forms with similar aspects. Long white hair, blue eyes, and a figure that really should be thinner-set for aquadynamics... which it technically is for the size of bosom that she has. Last I checked, a C cup ain't a small thing, but it is not the largest out there. For her siren form, that's when things get interesting, as her legs fuse together to form a mermaid-like tail. In her mer-form, though, she finds herself naturally covered from the front, as the smooth, almost skin-like scales of her mer-form stretch from the entirety of her tail up the front part of her upper body, giving her the appearance of a backless dress. To better allow aquadynamics, Aurora also finds herself losing a cup size, which she isn't too bothered by, although mounds where her boobs are on her human form still remain all the same. For one reason or another, not much you can do about that.
Aurora Rantis is... special. In both connotations of the phrase. While not entirely stupid, as she does have very specialized knowledge in certain fields, she has various things going against her. Namely, she tends to have instances of bad luck. Other times, she legitimately finds herself flubbing up of her own accord for one reason or another, usually as a result of lack of observation, remembrance of what she's supposed to be doing, or something like that. The fact that she's generally weird doesn't help her case in the slightest, and she's also a bit hyperactive and impulsive. This leads to her having some... rather bad times, such as one time where she brought an entire shelf of games crashing down onto her head when the one she was looking for was already on her desk. Still, when she has a well-thought out plan, you can be sure that you'll often find yourself having a hard time breaking away from it when she's got you in her clutches. Either that, or she's generally an unusually good combatant. Either way, never underestimate the weird ones.
Suffice to say, in usual Zerg fashion, Aurora is not your typical siren. Yes, she has her own songs for leading people along, she often uses them to help them -avoid- danger rather than steer them right into it. Ships of varying sizes just remember following a sweet song only to look back and find that they navigated their way through a hazardous area unharmed as a result, much like a guardian... mermaid? Not sure if that'd be the correct term, since Aurora can't get airborne on her own volition. But that's just when she's in her mer-form. In her human form, the alluring power of her songs gets traded in for what is essentially waterbending. Manipulating a great number of liquids with the exception of air itself is her forte, usually to the extent of moving water around. As an added bonus, Aurora can also manipulate sufficiently dense water vapor, meaning that she can liquidize steam, clouds, or mist back into liquid water and vice versa. It's not full weather control, mind you, as she cannot alter temperatures in any way. If it's hot, it'll still be hot even if she dehumidifies the immediate area, and she has no control over lava or magma. If it's cold, she can't melt ice with her powers alone, and holds no sway over snow (see Rena Paola about that).
As for switching from mermaid to human, this isn't entirely, entirely voluntary. Aurora's transformation tends to be triggered by letting herself slip at least waist-deep into water, and cannot be held back. This does mean that she often has to skimp out on most swimsuits if she plans on actually, you know, swimming. Fortunately, she can't get any clothes below her waist trapped in her body in places where she can't expel them... they just get shredded to shit for whatever reason, with the main exception being skirts. The transformation from human to merform usually starts about thirty seconds after sufficient submersion, and elapses over the course of fifteen for the actual process itself. As for switching from merform to human, she has to be out of the water for another 30 seconds, with the reversion taking fifteen seconds.

Below is a reference for how I usually envision Aurora's merform, albeit without the fins on her back and the horn on her head.
