1)Aurora is a unique ice dragon for a number of reasons, the main and easiest reason however is that her temperature in the deepest parts of her body near absolute zero. She's cold in every physical sense!

2) Aurora has a core, it functions like a second heart except regulates her magic, her body temperature, and a large number of other things. It's roughly the size of a grapefruit and a similarly rough and round shape.
2a) A further clarification of her core that explains some of Aurora's unique nature is that it's a focal point for some aspects of magic and mana in her world. Normally these focal points are just simple crystals in some geometric shape and not a living creature, Aurora ended up as this focal point due to a series of events with her conception and birth. Her core is the focal point for cold mana and magics, so ice, snow, wind, temperature, even storms to a degree. She has access to these aspects and traits of magic, but on account of her species excels most with ice and snow.

3) Aurora's core will solidify and crystallize if she is killed or badly injured. If she recovers from the injury it'll slowly return to it's ephemeral almost fluid-like state in her body, but in the event of death it'll stay solid and nearly indestructible.
3a) Aurora can theoretically 'survive' her death as her core may regenerate a body, either purely magical in nature or physical and living like she currently is. She likely would not remember anything that happened after her core solidifies, so she may remember events leading up to her fate, but not the actual end result.
3b) If the body restored is purely magical in nature she would essentially be an elemental spirit. It would likely restore itself to a flesh and bone body after a long period of time, but she wouldn't physically be the same.

4) Aurora was not supposed to be a proper dragon. In her world her species was a very distant descendant and sub-species of dragons, and not even true ones at that. They are barely sapient and communicated through action and instinct rather than wisdom, words, and knowledge. Aurora was essentially uplifted by a number of coincidental factors, but some vestiges of her species remain.
4a) Aurora will often act on instinct and her subconscious rather than learned habits and wisdom, as a result she'll occasionally end up in awkward, embarrassing, or bad situations because she simply didn't think.
4b) Aurora is a terrible dragon. This is not a joke, she is terrible at being a dragon. She's an incredibly powerful creature but doesn't really understand that or how to use that fact. The reason for this is that her egg was discarded from her clutch on account of not hatching (because of her unique circumstances). It was found after an indeterminate amount of time and sold as a trinket, so it passed hands numerous times and eventually came into possession of a small group of curious mages. It wasn't an easy task but the group decided to break the egg open to see what was inside, and eventually managed to crack it after a great deal of effort. The reward for their troubles was a dragon hatchling, a runt at that, with stunted growth. Her egg had actively been hindering her growth and development, the shell had grown too thick and had some magic resistant traits to begin with.
4c) She was raised by the group of mages. She was used as a magic battery at times or even a tool in some situations, but overall was raised like a human or elf, resulting in the aforementioned fact of her being a terrible dragon.

5) Mana is an important concept with her and her world. It's essentially the lifeblood of any living creature in her world, and the world itself, but too much is dangerous. It's the fuel for life and the source of magic in her world, and as a result is very potent and very chaotic in nature when not tied to any aspect, element, or nature. It's essentially undiluted primal chaos.
5a) Pure unaspected/unaligned mana is essentially poison to sapient beings if they come into contact with it. It can however be granted an aspect, alignment, nature, something to give it direction and order which will make it much safer to use.
