She was a relatively righteous Paladin, once... there are varying takes on just how long ago it was that she gave up that path, but it's been at least a year. A large amount of disillusion with the beliefs of those holy warriors... and the way she was treated, as a predominant caster where melee brutes reigned... meant that the mithra Aurai wasn't welcome in their order, and so she took her knowledge and equipment and left for better things.
She'd show them, though. While they could boot her out and make sure she was no longer known as a Paladin by name, they couldn't make her unlearn what she'd been taught... and it freed her up to learn even more. Blue Magic was her next go-to, after finishing her White Magic tutelage, and even a bit of Black Magic. She became a generalized caster of relatively impressive renown, and began to hire herself out as a mercenary.
And as she learned more spells, she began to learn to combine them rather effectively, until she created a sort of magical school all of her own. She doesn't have a name for it, but it's often just referred to as 'Aurai's Mischief', seeing as she tends to use it for such things. She's even created some of her own spells simply through experimenting... though she always has the basics to fall back on, and she's no slouch in melee. She uses a hefty staff instead of a sword, granted, but it's still an object to beat with, and it still hurts. Her shield is heavy as well, and quite effective when clocking a victim on the head.
Her reputation has gotten shadier, however, especially more recently... ever since using the Mini spell on a local warlord, strutting him around town coiled up in her tail, and then 'making him disappear', people have been slightly warier about turning their backs to the mischevious mithra warrior-mage. Others have said that she's gotten a habit of consuming enemies mid-battle (often things/people no one else would ever want to eat), as well as any consorts that come calling on her in towns... and abusing Blue Magic skills to tease and assist in eating prey. She also doesn't wear panties very often... no one knows why officially, but it's generally assumed she keeps them off 'for easy access'. Read into that at your own risk~!
She's known to be very intelligent and cunning, but she's a bit of a hedonist and likes to feel powerful and strong... she'll often play with and dominate her victims/enemies/prey, treating them rather miserably before/after consuming them. People who compliment her without provocation will usually start in her good graces.
Common spells: She knows a LOT of magic after all of her spells, but she has a bunch of favorite fallbacks, as she prefers consuming her prey rather than killing them outright, so we're only listing the ones she uses often/considers overly useful in her mercenary gobbling duties.
Also, if you're ever digested or killed, your soul could make a plea to her. She does still know all of her white magic~!
