Arthur like many wild Pokémon was, whilst somewhat shy around humans, a pretty friendly Pokémon. The young Riolu living his days out with his family up in the lush natural basin of Mt. Zenith, his own tribe of Lucario quite social with the other species there, a Poképaradise for sure. That's when the bad people came, they stole away many Pokémon that day with their machines, devastating the beauty of the natural landscape in their horrid crusade. Among the Pokémon that were captured that day was Arthur, seperated from his parents as he was transported to a high tech facility, what followed were years of gruelling genetic experiments and cruel training regimes to create Pokémon with more power than their natural evolution could allow.

In Arthur's case his regular Fighting/Steel typing was given several additions with the genes of several Fire, Dark and Dragon types being infused into his D.N.A, resulting in an amalgamation of types and granting him access to a plethora of additional moves. A side effect ocured, his usual blue fur shifted in colouration to a deep red, he also gained the ability to speak human when humanoid genetics were introduced to improve his tactical prowess and intelligence. However this would proove to be their downfall when Arthur grew far too powerful for their own good, during training Arthur accidently blew open a hole in the wall with his Aura Sphere, impacting a security console on the other side sending the base into disarray, his shock colar deactivating along with several other experiments, they quickly set about fighting their way out, freeing the less formidable Pokémon who had been trapped there before making their escape.

Now free the Lucario chose to live amongst the varried species of The Nexus due to his burden of human level intelligence coupled with his incredible new powers giving him no place in a natural eco-system, the Lucario works a job as a Training Coach at a pretty state of the art gym and is happy to help mostly anyone though has his apprehensions around humans for obvious reasons.
