Harpies, part bird, part human, are a rather common figure in mythology, similar appearances being given to a number of species, though a similar theme seems to link quite a few - abilities focusing around their voices. Be it impossibly enticing or hypnotic songs, shrieks so powerful and loud they could crack stone, lilting vocals that could draw even an insomniac into a deep, peaceful sleep... a fitting theme, for species similar to birds. Arcus fits this better than most, being blessed with a multitude of vocal powers... and the inability to make a noise without activing such effects!

Arcus is, in fact, incapable of speaking - while perfectly able to understand speech, his abilities prevent him from actually speaking words, the harpy only able to shriek, sing, or chirp... making it a chore to make his thoughts understood. As such, the harpy focused more on singing, having become quite proficient over years of it being all he could do with his elegant voice, the harpy often performing for small towns, mostly to win some food, applause, and some coin, often winning quite a lot for his services - his lovely voice, combined with the fact he sang literal siren songs, certainly contributed to this!

The harpy himself is rather small and slight, female harpies often being larger than the males by a good margin! He stands at 125cm, though what he lacks in height, he makes up for in colours - his body decorated in a myriad of colours, covering his slender, aerodynamic figure. His impressive wings begin with a deep purple colour by the base, the purple extending to about a third of the ways across his wingspan, before shifting into blue, green, yellow, orange, and finally a brilliant crimson over the tips, the harpy being an extremely colourful member of his species. His hair, on the other hand, has a more stable, pale-green colours to it, with small flecks of purple scattered throughout. His slender chest lacks any feathers, along with his neck and face, beyond a few colourful additions where his hair begins. His hips and upper legs are bare, leading down to a pair of talons, serving as his lower legs and feet. At the base of his back, he has a form of 'tail', several extremely long, colourful feathers, similar to those of a peacock. The harpy tends to wear loose, lengthy clothing, often in a rather colourful pattern, it being clear that his extremely noticable style is likely a means of impressing and attracting mates!

Being a smaller harpy, he tends to be quicker than larger, heavier birds... but lacks a lot of strength, focusing on agility and aerial acrobatics! Of course, when matched up against a larger harpy, it tends to become evident that his durability is lacking - a proper charge from one, if it hit, would likely sending him spiraling towards the ground! To this end, he tends to mix his vocal abilities with flight - distracting a charging opponent with a blast of sound, entrancing them momentarily with a song, inducing weariness and slumber... the male harpy is lacking in a battle, but at the very least, he can be quite difficult to get ahold of! Of course, a strike to the neck could temporarily mute him, taking away a rather powerful weapon in his arsenal - the only weapon, in fact, beyond his talons.

The harpy himself is rather peaceful, preferring to simply relax, fly about, and spend time with friends, his size and nature making actually trying to hunt down people a bit difficult. Leaving those kinds of things up to other, bigger harpies, he enjoys his rather basic life, mostly seen either interacting with other harpies, singing, or flying through the air - and often a mixture of the three.
