It started with a dream

the radiant one bled, her strength spent she leant upon her blade and looked upon the foul darkness of her opponent. She was defeated yes, but she was unconquered and would fight again.

And then the impossible happened. The dark one seized her light, her light that was inviolate and pure “you can't!” she cried. The dark one smiled, and in that expression of satisfaction was a thousand years of delight in cruelty and suffering.
“You mustn't!” with a final burst of strength she rose to take a single blow, her shock..her fury, her outrage all channeled into a brilliant arc.
The blade bit flesh and the dark one cried, the hand and the light spinning off into the infinite. The radiant one collapsed, with her light gone that was her last act. The dark one smiled again, disregarding his severed hand “It is no matter...you're mine now!”


And then Aralyn awoke, the strange dream fading as she shuffled into the bathroom. Everything was normal up until she looked up into the mirror and saw a circle of light above her head “huh, when'd we get a circular light opposite the mirror-ohmygodwhatthefuck!”

Yeah, that wasn't a good morning. But could she be blamed for freaking out? She had a Halo! She had Wings! She even managed to knock over half the shower supplies with them as they responded to her utter panic. But they weren't the only thing responding, her father soon knocking on the door asking whether she was okay.

Tempted to answer no she instead sought some rational refuge, controlled breathing, lower heart rate..focus desperately on not being seen this way and being asked questions she wasn't even equipped to answer!

And it worked, the halo and wings vanished..she assured her father she was okay and just slipped.
Maybe it was just a hallucination she pondered as she got dressed, then damned near had a second freakout as if in response to her recollection and visualization they reappeared. Thankfully this was somewhat quieter than last time and it didn't take that much to make them go away again. She barely said anything during breakfast, mind churning with shock and implications. As she boarded the bus she came to her first conclusion

I'm...I'm an angel? But this can't happen to me..it can't be happening to me, I'm an atheist!

Aralyn is an eighteen year old girl who had enough problems before having an angel's halo fall to her. She stands five foot seven inches tall and has blonde hair that extends to shoulder length and grey eyes. Her clothing varies with the day and context she's encountered in, she tends to prefer earthen tones rather than primary colours.

Before the incident she tended to be simultaneously both sporty and somewhat of a party animal, she's become more cautious about both since however as while she believes she can keep the wings and halo suppressed she wonders if the heat of the moment or alcohol would let them slip. And if that happened life would never be the same.

As for her angelic portion? She's got a wingspan of around twelve feet with those feathery white wings of hers and the halo is a bobbing seemingly immaterial glowing ring about a foot above her head. For reasons unknown to her its blemished along a portion of its circumference, darkened somehow.

Known powers:

Flight. Aralyn can fly, though she has little aerobatic skill and can't hover yet.

Reformation. Aralyn reforms, she's an angel after all.

Soulvore. It bears elaborating on though, Aralyn's figure does not change based on the nutrition influx from digesting prey but from merging souls into her flesh.
