Aqua is actually not his name, but this is where the unique quirk of his comes into play, he is carefree and whimsical to a fault, a big fault. Aqua cares about nothing and no one but himself. His name can't be spoken by human tongue so he allows them to call him whatever they like, the most common being Aqua, Latin for water. Do not mistake his carefree nature for cold apathy however, it's not that he hates people or anything like that. He is just so happy to be alive and free that peoples concerns seem like dangerous weights that could steal away his fun! Selfish? Yes. He cannot remember his family, but it doesn't bother him. Who cares where he came from after all? He's here now isn't he? He comes from a place in the tropics, as such he has a preference for lukewarm to warm water, the colder temps make him uncomfortable. He has a beautiful singing voice, little does he know it possess a magical property...a subdued for of hypnosis! He doesn't know this of course, and assumes people just really enjoy his voice, if he discovered it was a "power" it would likely upset him quite a bit. He can be found in his home if you somehow make it through the magical storms that protect the place, other merfolk and sea life find their way there easily. But humans and land creatures rarely find their way there, and when they do, they rarely leave. The merfolk there aren't hostile towards other life, but at the same time to protect themselves they will allow the destructive storms to ravage their ships but they accept the survivors of these incidents into their world, the magic of the sea changes them into an odd creation that appears to be a mix of fish and human(Discussed later). Aqua leaves the sea area often to spend time near the shore, sometimes on the shore, or he can be found sunning himself on a rock singing one one of his songs. One of the ways to get his attention is to bring something shiny, he adores any type of gemstone.
