Setting Information

Panzerfahren (also called "Sensha-dou" or "Tankery") is a form of martial arts that involves the use of tanks as weapons. This martial art is mainly practiced by high school and college-age girls (with a professional league in development) in order to develop their self-esteem as young women, assist in becoming a professional and efficient citizen, and develop the characteristics necessary for motherhood. It involves two opposing school teams, each possesing their own set of tanks, combating in established league matches. There are two types of matches in Panzerfahren, the "wipe-out match" and the "capture the flag" match. The wipe-out match is when one team must eliminate all of its opposing team's tanks in order to win the match. This type of match will favour the team with superior tanks, for it is a battle of attrition. The capture the flag match is when one team must eliminate the opposing team's flag tank in order to win the match. This type of match will give a chance for an unfavourable team to win for they only need to eleminate the opposing team's flag tank, usually by use of superior strategies and tactics despite the odds against them.

Located in Tochigi, Japan, Anzio is relatively small school compared to the other main Panzerfahren academies. It's a private institution, founded by a wealthy benefactor with the goal of spreading Italian culture in Japan. The school is quite poor, and to help make ends meet, most Anzio girls have food selling booths; to save up for their secret weapon, the Caro Armato P 40, the school underwent some serious cutbacks. Despite their lack of funds, however, the school's girls are very passionate about their food, and there are daily lunchtime fairs operated by the school's clubs to raise money. The bulk of its forces is made up of either tankettes and/or weak M13/40s, supported by just a handful of tanks armed with 75 mm guns. Anzio tends to rely on baiting and ambush tactics, trying to capitalize on its tankettes' mobility to throw the opponent off-guard and strike its flag tank with the heavier vehicles.

Anzio's culture is prone towards festivities and feasts. Although the school maintains a thriving Panzerfahren club, Anzio is unique in that the club will regularly throw extravagant post-match parties to thank all participants and officials, regardless of the outcome of the match. It is suggested that an equal (if not greater) amount of effort goes into the post-match celebrations as into the match itself.

The Primary Characters

Anchovy, center, is the commander of the Panzerfahren team at Anzio Girls High. Called "Duce" by her team, Anchovy operates her school's prized flag tank, an Italian Carro Armato P 40. She is very hot-blooded and filled with determination, and fiercely competitive when it comes to Panzerfahren. In battle, she is a capable tactician, able to outsmart and overcome opponents despite Anzio's inferior firepower. However, if her plans fail (even due to her subordinates' mistakes), she can act recklessly and impulsively.

Pepperoni, right, serves as vice-commander of the school's Panzerfahren team, along with Carpaccio; in battle, she sits at the controls of a Carro Veloce CV.33, and has proven herself a capable driver. Extroverted and easygoing, Pepperoni is in charge of Anzio's tankettes. Her cheerful personality makes her an excellent companion, although she's not the best at keeping secrets. She's also an excellent cook, and can frequently be found donning a chef's hat behind the counter at the team's food stand, selling lunch to raise money.

Carpaccio, left, is the other vice-commander of the Panzerfahren team. She is a sweet, polite, and quiet girl, and acts as a counterbalance to the hot-blooded Anchovy and the energetic Pepperoni. In battle, she rides in a Semovente da 75/18, operating as its loader.

And what good is an army without its troops? Over 20 in number, the commanders have plenty of girls to operate the tanks that make up their team (and help them throw their parties after the match). Not much else to say about them, they'll fill in when needed.

RP Information

Setting wise, they (with or without their subordinates) can be played in a modified Girls und Panzer setting, adapted to conditions here (say, "prisoners of war" after a match spending some time as the winning team's food supply), or they can simply be in a more freeform setting. Either is fine. Kowledge of their source material is helpful, but not mandatory.
