Anela
Just as there are land snakes and sea snakes, there are land naga and oceanic naga. Anela, here, is one of the latter, of course. Born on an island in the middle of nowhere, she was one of several survivors from her clutch, which contained more than thirty eggs. However, she was a bit different.
Most oceanic naga, when they are born, are pretty much feral, and she was not too far removed from that herself. However, she'd gotten herself into a bit of a bind when she was newly hatched, pinned between a pair of rocks. A researcher who was studying the early lives of Anela's kind was moved by the surprisingly human cries of the little one. She went over and rescued her, releasing the little one from her confinement. Anela, of course, promptly fled, but it made an impression on her.
Sixteen years later, Anela's about as mature, physically, as she's going to get. She's matured beautifully as well, reaching about twenty feet in length from tip to tail, with a combination of silvery and blue scales, her hair and eyes matching the latter almost perfectly. She doesn't wear clothes, having no need for them, though she does keep her hair as short as she can, resulting in a somewhat ragged look. It's hard to cut hair without proper tools, after all.
A curious sort, Anela is extremely interested in humans and near-humans. With a keen sense of smell and a sharp, intuitive mind, she's proven to be rather good at solving problems, particularly doors and locks. Where finesse fails, she'll use brute strength instead. Failing that, she'll find a human who knows how, if she can! Smart girl. Still, she most often avoids people somewhat, instead rummaging amongst their things while they're away, stealing small objects that catch her eye, most of them useless junk. Shiny, though.
She cannot speak, though she is intelligent. She's never met a human and stayed with them to learn a language, after all! However, she understands tones well and she understands some body language from her previous encounters. As well, she has a very, very good sense of smell.
As far as her dietary habits, she eats anything that she determines to taste good that's not going to hurt her. People, micros, hot dogs, various other, inedible objects. Those get coughed up later, but still, you get the idea. She's learning, though! Someone careful enough could even get close to her and become a friend, unless she was hungry enough.
