"Are you ready to hear my song?"

Galactic Angel, Terran Pixie, Fairy Princess of the Blue Planet. To her devoted fans and admirers, Ami Rolands is all that and so much more. The up and coming pop idol hasn't been on the scene long but she is already making waves across the sol system. Her music can be heard even in the furthest flung colonies and her latest song, Blue Horizon, has topped the charts for the past week now.

This dramatic rise to fame can be partly attributed to her energetic performances and a diverse repertoire of music that spans numerous genres. This includes baroque, pop, rock, and electronic. Just as significant, however, is her accessibility to her fans through social networking and media. While other performers may be aloof and distant, she regularly attends conventions and makes an effort to meet the people that have come to enjoy her singing. Through this, they've come to see her as a gentle and cheery, though sometimes mischievous girl who isn't too shy to be risque now and then. And try as they might, the colonial paparazzi have yet to uncover a single sex tape or scandalous relationship to sully the pristine reputation that her fans adore. Oh, if they only knew of her second talent; Ami is a genius hacker.

The authorities know her by the alias Digital Sylph, a digital prankster and artist who infiltrates secure data centers and leaves her mark. Of course, not everything she does is as benign as internet memes and cyberspace graffiti. She does steal information, though for the thrill of it rather than corporate sabotage. Knowing company secrets, like the coke formula or which CEO is putting money in 'offshore' accounts, gives Ami nearly as big a rush as her singing does. She also dabble in cyberspace vigilantism, outing pedophiles and corrupt politicians, but doesn't make a habit of it. Being too active, after all, might expose her little secret. And, yes, that hacking has helped accelerate her popularity - she is an idol, not a saint - and it has kept the reporters out of her business to date. How long will it last, though? She really is a sweet girl but behind the scenes she is a little cocky. Perhaps too cocky. Even the best slip up now and then.

Reginleif

What crossed Icarus' mind when he realized too late he got too close to the sun. Did he have any regrets? If he was anything like Ami, probably. Miss Roland had also gotten too close to the "sun" herself when she delved into United Colonial Corporation databases and uncovered the horrible truth of the UCC_Musume_Arena. What glimpses she caught were alarming to say the least and she tried to bury any trace of her presence but it was all for naught; they found her and they kidnapped her. It didn't matter how high profile she was, she had to go. And when they were done, she wasn't human any more. She wasn't Ami any more. No, she was Reginleif, the advanced combat Mecha Musume.

Fragments of her memory are missing, likely due to the procedures she endured - The cybernetic augmentation, the nanomachine infusions, the genetic enhancements. She can't remember precisely who she was, only that Reginleif was once a prominent singer. A once proud idol who now teeters dangerously close to being broken by their abuses and their taunting. She doesn't know much of what they have in store, but what scraps of dignity she has left will see her either escape or perish in this sick game. Her only hope is that they've made a mistake making her into a potent war machine that can cut through warships and vaporize tanks. And perhaps, just maybe, they forgot to erase completely her hacking skills.
