Sure, the life of an orphan isn't all glamour and fun but it can at least be an adventure if one puts some effort into it!

Amber, as a baby, was left on the doorstep of an orphanage that was known for a high adoption rate. Her parents just couldn't raise her on their own so they needed to leave it up to another. As she grew older, it became obvious to the orphanage that she was a bit of a handful, especially with how many times she liked to sneak out. At first they tried to put a stop to it, but eventually they gave in as long as she returned by night fall. This, of course, eventually grabbed the attention of the Matron of the orphanage itself, who added a little something extra to the squirrel that she wasn't aware of. A sort of safety precaution, just in case.

Not the most responsible of squirrels, Amber tended to butt her nose into places that really shouldn't be butted into, but thanks to the agility of the girl she always managed to scamper herself away from any trouble she might have caused. But eventually this might catch up to her... Until then, her confidence and bubbly personality gets her by on the streets, whether it be panhandling or handing out fliers to promote special adoption events at the orphanage. As for being adopted herself, the girl actively tries to avoid it -- the orphanage is her home, in her mind.
