Amazonian

The Amazonian is a Species of island-based humans native to The_Amazon_Isles. The population is comprised by entirely females, and the odd hermaphroditic “males”. The Amazon is unique in that they have carved out a symbiotic niche in their environment as a prey item. By offering themselves to powerful predators they are able to receive their protection and create safe havens in an otherwise hostile environment. This allows the adults to sleep, breed, and raise their young in relative safety. Despite this protection adult amazons must venture from their villages to forage for food and wage war, and when they do, they are still at great risk of being consumed by lesser predators. However, they are an essential part of the island’s ecosystem and are the most common prey item for large predators. Thanks to the presence of the Amazons, the island’s ecosystem has reached a proper equilibrium, whereas both Amazons and predators live in steady numbers. The remains of consumed Amazons also serve to keep the lush greenery of the Isles fertilized. Though not the most powerful species on the Island, the Amazonian is undoubtedly its most important.
