Origin:
Alyssa hails from a universe where the laws of physics are a little different. Space is more compacted, and gravity is stronger than it is in the nexus. Meaning that small life forms are the rule. Despite being only 2 inches in height, Alyssa's kind are the dominant life form on their world, and among the biggest on their planet. Their technology is very advanced, with exceptional skill in gravity and space manipulation. Just recently, they have taken an interest in alternate realities, where laws of physics are different from their own. To this end, they created the Ouranaut project. (The word is derived from ancient greek ouránia (Heavens) + nautes (sailor))

Alyssa herself had a typical upbringing, born to a suburban family, grew up, went to collage, and studied in biology and dimensional sciences. From a young age, she has always been enamored with the idea of alternate realities and new universes, and was one of the first to sign up for the Ouranaut project when it was announced. Through hard work and dedication, she was one of the few assigned SOARships and granted the title of 'Ouranaut', and tasked to explore these new alternate worlds. Alyssa was assigned alternate universe 45232, otherwise known as Nexus.

Vessel:
SOAR (Sphere of Augmented Reality) ship MK 01. 'Silver Eve'

The SOARship, on the outside, appears much like a simple silvery sphere when idle. It's surface is smooth, nearly frictionless, and reflective like a mirror. Generally around three inches in diameter, the SOARship can change its size somewhat, altering it's shape or growing bigger or smaller. The surface can spawn doorways or windows as dictated by it's pilot or AI. It relies on gravity manipulation to fly around, having no visible engines or source of thrust. It's quite nimble with a good pilot at the controls. The ship itself is very durable and possesses strong shielding, but is unarmed.

The inside of the ship, however, is much larger than it's diminutive exterior would suggest. To Alyssa, it is the size of a building on the inside, complete with everything an Ouranaut could need. It has a well furnished living quarters, an automated kitchen, a decent library and holodeck, a well stocked laboratory, a specimen storage vault, medical bay, and much more. New rooms can be built as needed by the ship's automated construction systems. Additionally, the ship is equipped with a cloning system that can clone a new Alyssa should something happen to the original. The ship's systems itself are managed and maintained by a dedicated AI that Alyssa has affectionately named 'Eve Jr.'

Equipment:
Omnicomp implant: As part of Alyssa's preparation for her mission, she was implanted with a powerful computer in her body. It is connected to her various senses, and is wired into her central nervous system. She can control this computer with thoughts, and can use it to run various useful programs, and control the SOARship remotely. One hand is equipped with an interface, allowing her to project holograms from her palm or interface with computer systems. The Omnicomp keeps a record of all her experiences and memories, and should Alyssa die, transmits them to the SOARship cloning system. Despite the extensiveness of this implant, there is no evidence of it on her skin. One couldn't tell she had it by just looking at her.

Mist charm of luck: Alyssa has purchased this good luck charm from Minori_Mayu. This charm is enchanted to make the user harder to spot by those who mean her ill. Alyssa has mounted the charm on the wall of the SOAR vessel. In the reading lounge, to be precise.

Entry 001:
The dimensional piercing worked. I am now in a new universe. As predicted, the gap left behind by my crossing has sealed up, meaning I'm stuck here until the designated retreival date. But that's fine by me, I'm eager to explore this new world, with all it's impossibly giant life. Not to mention this so called 'magic' that the scientists keep mentioning, if it really exists. Personally, I think they've spent not enough time on the dimensional viewer, and too much in novels. Either way, I've been tasked to document its existence, or lack thereof.

Entry 002:
Not only has life thrived here, in this oversized land, there is sentient life too! And a very startling array of sentient life too! Nagas, elves, centaurs, bipedal foxes and lizards, and many more besides. By and large, most of them are huge, easily dozens of times the size of myself. Fortunately, there are a few that are a more appropriate scale. Yet there are also a few that dwarf even the usual giants, and grow to mind boggling heights. How they have not collapsed in on themselves is anyone's guess. I'm half ready to just chalk it up to magic.

Entry 003:
I had a close call today. I attempted to make contact with one of the locals, and wound up running for my life. I had to hide in a hollow log until she went away. The sentient life here, it is carnivorous. The naga wanted to eat me! I'm beginning to discover that, while we might have been the dominant species back home, here, I'm rather low on the food chain. At my small size, despite my technology, I am vulnerable.


Entry 004:
Some good news. Today, I encountered a centaur, going by Armistice_Shin_ho. She was recruiting for a 'Mobile Infantry'. Recognizing an opportunity to both make the place a little safer for normal sized people like myself, as well as finding some safety in numbers from those who'd try to eat me. They're very accepting of different races and sizes, and were willing to accommodate my current mission. She and another member of her squad, IonaItova, gave me a very memorial welcoming. I won't say much, just that I got a jumpstart on studying centaur and elf reproductive anatomy. I'm going to like it here I think.

Entry 005:
This world just keeps on getting stranger and stranger. I wish I could say being eaten alive and whole is a bizarre experience, but it isn't even the Fourth weirdest thing to happen to me today.

First: The giant elf who ate me had some sort of pheromone or aphrodisiac in her saliva. I wound up trying to... have sex with her tongue.

Second: My sphere ship wound up inside the hat of Magical_Mindy. Apparently, she has a spatial anomaly inside of her hat, and wears it around on top of her head!

Third: For a magical trick, Mindy duplicated me. Out of thin air. According to Eve, it's a complete, perfect clone. For the time being, we're treating this as an unintentional cloning, and giving it a bit of time before we decide what to do. The clone has been assisting me around the ship, and it's nice to find someone else who likes the antique 2D screen video games as much as I do.

Fourth: The AI of the sphere ship has developed a sense of aesthetics. When it emerged from Mindy's hat, it was wearing a viking helmet, and hasn't given an adequate explanation on why it was doing so. Though it feels the beard Mindy drew on it doesn't quite fit with it's newfound concern about appearances. As long as it doesn't interfere with the mission, I suppose it's fine if the sphere makes cosmetic modifications to itself. I suspect exposure to the magical rich environment of Mindy's hat caused this, but I'm not certain.

Entry 006:
Today, I encounters a young woman, one that was tiny like me, named Abigail_Lanchester. Not quite as tiny, but still small enough to leave her very vulnerable to this world. Something about her plight tugged at the heartstrings, and I bent a few regulations in order to help her out. I provided her with a com bead, integrated into a ring, so she could call me if she needed help. Also, I took a brain backup of her, so she could be cloned if she ever got into trouble. Command back home would probably rap my knuckles with a ruler, but I'm alone out here aside from Eve. Speaking of Eve, I think she made a friend too. Another AI named Aureo.

Entry 007:
My mission to study magic has just gotten a whole lot more interesting. During a meeting with some of the locals, (Miss_Vivian, Miss_Vivian, the pokemon Apple AfraidPichu, and Blizzare) I discovered that it was possible for me to use magic! Blizzare had something called a 'sensor tag', some sort of magical paper that detects magical affinity. When I held it, it melted into black goo, and gave me a pair of horns. Apparently, I've got an affinity for 'Dark' magic. This is going to be very interesting and informative to say the least. Also, pokemon are totally real too. When I was a kid, I always wanted one. Truth be told, I still do, really. Maybe I'll run into some trainers who can get me started.
