Aldridge_Labs

(( This character has no connection with any other character with Aldrige in their names. The similarity is completely coincidental. Furthermore the concept was Mist_'s.)) On the outskirts of town is The Mnt. Aldrige State park. In years long past the mountain and surrounding wilderness was a popular spot for campers, hikers climbers and swimmers, people flocked to the area from miles around for the tranquil sounds and picturesque views. That all came to a halt in the spring of 1985 when the area was closed of to the public. Overnight armed guards and fences appeared around the once popular vacation spot without much explanation. Years would pass and the people of the surrounding towns are left to speculate why the park was closed. That is until October 2004 when after 19 years all of the Government presence just up and left as suddenly as it arrived. The park was still closed and the public was informed that the area was offlimits but there was never any reason given. In the following years the surrounding towns started experiencing strange events. Strange noises and lights coming from the park. Children in the area getting terrible nightmares and adults seeing things that can not be explained. Finally women ranging from 16 -45 begin to vanish from towns for a hundred miles around. Still the authorities just play it off as them getting lost in the woods or running away. The townspeople have another theory though. There are stories of a door set in the side of the mountain itself that leads into a secret Government facility. The towns folk seem to believe that the government uncovered an ancient evil and were trying to harness forces beyond their control or comprehension. Today the mountain just looms over the town waiting for a champion cunning and strong enough to find the truth.
