Akizuki

Though she's presently a very well-taken care of maid in the house of a certain Daniel Kebrove, in her past, Akizuki wasn't so fortunate. She was born in a remote jungle village in the jungle-portion of the planet Glabra before the fialisation of the corruption of the planet by its Archon, Vozik. She was orphaned by the conflicts brought about by the increasing amount of depravity and corruption radiating out of the planet's guardian.

She would have died if not for the kindness of Nobu, the head butler of Daniel's estate. Though the boy seemed younger than Akizuki, the bird demon was actually centuries older. The old bird saw the young, starving girl as a chance to give his boss, the billionaire playboy with no real personal relationships, the opportunity to forge a bond with a person that ran deeper than money, contractual obligation, or ties to the Kebrove name in general.

The first couple weeks there, Akizuki didn't speak; she only stared blankly down at whatever was in front of her, barely ate anything without being coaxed. Daniel was worried enough to urge Nobu to do something about the poor, emaciated girl. So finally, the head butler put his foot down and MADE Akizuki eat, bathe, and sleep in a bed. The following day, he assigned her some chores around the mansion and gave her an extra outfit to wear; from that day on, Akizuki was to be a maid in the home.

It was a difficult adjustment, going from having nothing to having a huge home with corridors and rooms she needed to memorise, a new slew of customs to learn in order to do her new job. She wasn't very good at it, clumsy and slow to learn the ropes and understand all of the "fancy" technology in the house (which wasn't saying much, but she's coming off of nothing).

The first time she broke something was a fancy vase she was attempting to dust that somehow slipped out of her hand and crashed to the floor, shattering into a bunch of tiny pieces. Panic overtook the cat-- what was going to happen to her now? She couldn't afford to pay the money for that vase, it was in too small of pieces to put back together. She'd just started getting used to her life here, and now it was probably going to come to an end. At best, she'd be back on the streets... At worst, well... She wasn't sure what.

And so Akizuki sunk to the floor and wept, gently taking pieces of the broken vase up into her hands, unintentionally cutting herself in the process, to which she responded by dropping the pieces on the ground and curling up beside the wall, burying her face in her knees and trying to quietly sob until somebody found her and decided she wasn't worth any of the trouble she brought. She was expecting the forever-stern Nobu to come after her, but the one that found her was actually the master of the house, Daniel Kebrove. He saw the situation and somehow his heart softened for the pitiful, skinny stray kitten that Nobu had had put into such an adorable outfit. It probably surprised him as much as it surprised her that he picked her up and began trying to comfort her, telling her that everything was okay and that she needn't worry about a silly old vase. With a snap of his fingers, a new one appeared and then he wrapped his handkerchief around her cut hand. It was the first time they'd really interacted, and after that, it seemed they had formed a bond that neither of them had ever had before.

The other staff put up with her horrible ability to clean or cook anything, giving her small, easy tasks so that the rest of the staff could get the real work done. Of course, Akizuki always wanted to help with things, which normally ended up in her destroying or otherwise ruining whatever it was that she was doing, causing an even bigger mess for everybody else, and then running off to the boss for comfort whenever she'd be scolded for her incompetence.

In her youth, Daniel was more of a sort of surrogate father-father figure to Akizuki, but as she aged, their relationship became... more complicated. Of course, the former thoughts for one another were there, but Akizuki was a woman now (at least, as far as physically. Emotionally and mentally, she was still young, and though she was approaching physical adulthood, she was still centuries younger than most of the residents of the Kebrove estate.) But her adoration for Daniel turned into a different sort of attraction for him... One in which it was becoming clear that he reciprocated at least a little bit.

And, as the years passed by and as Akizuki and Daniel became more and more attached to one another, the less and less she was seen as just another member of "the help" and more a lap-cat and/or the estate's princess. She still tried to do her duties, but most of the time, she was around only to cuddle with Daniel and have him dote on her, and her dote upon him as well.
