Akemi could trace her fascination with size to a very young age. Back to those Saturday mornings where she would wake up early to hopefully catch the newest episode of whatever anime was popular at the time. She did remember being a big fan of magical girls for all the 'fantasy' things that happened. One episode in particular stood out to her: one of the heroines was grown to a gigantic size by the villain of the week. Little Akemi never understood why it seemed so cool but she remembered wishing she could grow that big herself. Her younger brother encouraged her in his own childish way, wanting to see his big sister happy.

One day it just happened. Out of nowhere while playing with her younger brother, she went from being a tiny thing of barely 104 centimeters to thrice that size with just a thought. It was a good thing she was outside otherwise that would have ruined the family house. Of course her brother thought it was the coolest thing in the world and at the time, Akemi did too. That is until she couldn't quite return to her normal size like she intended. It took six hours before she found out how to return to normal. Months after that was spent practicing just how to control her new ability. It was after that when Akemi would discover she could also influence the size of others. After she discovered that, bath time between her and her little brother became a lot more fun.

Several years later, now that she's grown up a lot both physically and mentally, Akemi still loves the thought of being huge. She's a local celebrity because of her ability to change size on a whim. The government wanted to study her and paid a generous sum to do so, something Akemi only did to ease the financial burden on her parents. It was costly to replace all of her clothing as she learned how to alter their size along with her body when she changed. Sadly she still has the occasional accident here and there

Akemi primarily uses her ability for fun, but she does also use it to help around where she can from time to time. It's not uncommon for her to volunteer to act as a jungle gym for children to climb and play with on the weekends at one of the local parks.
