Physical Description:
Akane Mizuhana appears as a small, very pale Japanese woman, with a rounded face, delicate cheekbones, and bright red eyes and hair. Not just any shade of red- blood red. Her hair is trimmed into a pageboy cut of an almost shell-like style, embracing close to her head. Her figure is unusually curvy, her hips especially dramatic for her height. She usually wears a crimson calflength splitskirt and cropped halter-top, accompanied by a pair of heavy and equally bright red combat boots. Her hands are covered by fingerless red (what other color?) gloves, and a broad red belt hangs at a diagonal about her hip and waist. Attached to this belt are a pair of katana with white wrappings on the hilt. The blades themselves have a reddish tinge to them, and the sheathes are both well-maintained red leather without any actual pattern.

Finally, a large pair of wings graces her back- their volume and shape suggests swan wings and their color comes close- but the white feathers show highlights and tinges of bloody crimson as light crosses them.

For all that her face is elegant, it is virtually unexpressive, the woman herself apparently all but completely lacking in emotion.

Physiological Quirks: Ageless, virtually indestructible, highly resistant to external magic, immune to fire and flame, low-grade super-strength and super-speed, natural flight (soaring), apparently incapable of bleeding out.

Personality/History:
In many ways, Akane appears to essentially not have a personality. The only emotions she seems to show are a detached curiosity and, when engaged in battle, a crazed bloodlust entirely unbefitting her apparent nature, frame, and overall appearance. The rest of the time she is dispassionately neutral- not coldly logical like some would expect, though. Instead she appears virtually uncaring of anything.

It’s not clear where she comes from. She claims that she -used to be- ‘The Archangel of Blood’, but refuses to go into any further detail on that. She appears and disappears essentially at random, wandering all over the place. She has indicated at times that she is searching for ‘a master’. When asked, Akane elaborates that she was told to find someone who could ‘teach (her) to feel’, though she’s not clear on what that means. She does seem to have decided that when she finds such a person she can learn from, she will treat them as her absolute and unquestioned master.

Psychological Quirks/Habits: Pathologically dominant until overpowered or fealty is given, pathologically submissive to those meeting requirements, apparently unable to understand emotion, virtually lacking in personal moral or ethical values, enjoys bleeding and causing others to bleed when in the context of battle.

Extraordinary Abilities:
Magical Capability: Akane has a number of spells as well as a degree of instinctual control over fire, and a much stronger affinity to blood, to the point that she constantly emanates a magical effect that increases her personal power, both magical and not, further the more blood is in her environment. Oddly, this only pertains to blood shed in battle, so deliberate torture, self-bloodletting, and non-combat accidents don’t contribute. She also knows considerable healing magic, though she refuses to use it during battle (for obvious reasons).
Spiritual Capability: The Blood Angel has a strong spiritual affinity for blood. Among other things this means that when she bleeds, she bleeds profusely and apparently without suffering. This also means that she can, more or less at will, dissolve into a mass of blood or return to her normal form from such a shape. While in the form of blood, she is capable of flying, hovering, and seeping through any substance that blood can soak into.
