After_The_Mountain

They say that climbing the mountain never lets you leave as the same person. They warn of its jagged peaks, its rocky footholds, and its harsh cold, and that much is all extremely true. Mount Celeste will no doubt wreck those who are not prepared for it, those who do not have the support to weather the tide of issues that may rise along the way, be they physical, mental, or supernatural.

But after the mountain?

After the mountain, there is peace. Accomplishment. A feeling of fullness, wholeness. A knowledge that you are not entirely different; rather, you are now whole, and that you may face whatever else life may have to throw at you.

After the mountain, where you once would meet a challenge with a hunger for greatness, there is a filling content, a warm feeling of satisfaction. Where once you would set up shop, tense the next storm might blow you away, you sit quiet and cozy, well-protected from avalanches.

It is all found in the mountain, and all that is revealed must be dealt with.

And after that, well...

there are the strawberries.

And when you're done with a journey of self-actualization, they will always be ready for a pie filling.

Madeline knows that, for sure. Climber of Mount Celeste, one of the few to reach the peak, has let herself go in the while since the climbing...and she loves it. She's warm, she's comfy, she doesn't have to worry about being picky over this and that, she can just eat. And, well...let what comes after eating come after, of course. When they come. Byproducts of digestion are released as necessary, yknow~

When you've climbed your own mountain, it's all alright. It's her journey; and if it involves letting one rip wherever she feels like it, so be it~!
