Imagine that the Oculus Rift has not only broken free of the shakles of Facebook, but advanced to the point where you no longer watched from the other side of the monitor, but you were right there in the world, experiencing full immersion of all your senses and controlling your character as easily as your own body. The latest game to utilize this technology is Sword Art Online, a fantasy MMORPG created by the inventor of the very device used to play it. However, a sinister trap awaits the first ten thousand players who log into the system: they discover that they cannot log out, effectively trapping them within the game. Surprise surprise, Aegean here is one of those ten thousand players. In order to escape, someone has to beat the final boss on the 100th floor of the floating castle of Aincrad without ever dying, because death here means your brain gets microwaved in the real world.

Aegean's equipment isn't exactly THE most protective of gears... at least, not under normal circumstances. You can plainly see this from the exposed midriff... well, make that most of her upper body. In terms of armor, those short shorts aren't doing any favors for anyone who isn't looking to snap screenshots. On dry land, she tends to have mid-grade protection against blades and techniques, to say nothing of random Creepers or gigantic men in red overalls and their fuckall huge fists. When in wet conditions, such as a rainstorm or after having gotten out of a body of water, that's when things rapidly start turning south for anybody dumb enough to oppose her. Unlike most anime clothing when wet, protection factor actually goes UP by more than a few grades, to the point of being comparable to Skyrim's Daedric Armor in Superior quality (read: soaks up most damage). Not only that, most non-physical attacks end up restoring her HP, making her a force to be reckoned by x-breathing monsters. All of this is thanks to the fact that her garb is enchanted, and a rare enchantment by SAO standards.

For Aegean herself, one could say that she's that one girl who can be seen in town with an Looking For Group sign. While not quite an attention hog, she rarely feels confident going into battle by her lonesome, a habit cultivated from endless hours playing Skyrim and raging at how broken enemy mages end up being. In fact, SAO isn't the first hard game she's been through: She's an avid gamer girl, through and through. Dark Souls, Skyrim, Bravely Default, she keeps up with the times. With the exception of arcade gaming, though... by a "miracle" of cultural osmosis (read: memes) and a young age, she's woefully unfamiliar with arcade gaming, feeling uncomfortable with most fight stick controllers that exist. Not that she likes Call of Duty (she abhors the current state of the series), but she'd rather take up arms against the Darkers (Phantasy Star Online 2) or Team Rocket rather than the Mad Gear Gang.

While a girl for smiles, she has a tendency to shut up when she gets to work, making her akin to The Stig of her group; silent but deadly. That, or Zombiemold, depending on how much Markiplier you watch. Of course, this tendency to stay silent while at work makes it hard for her to communicate with her teammates, as she could randomly up and vanish in the middle of a scuffle with no one noticing. As such, she's gotten a bit of a bad rep with at least a few players because of what she doesn't say. At least, this is among some of the more inexperienced players. Among veterans, she can be considered a valuable asset, if their communication isn't that verbal.

In terms of her abilities, much of Aegean's agility can be owed to her participation in her school's swim team in the real world. Her body is nice and toned from all those laps around the pool, even with her having a more bountiful bust than most Olympic swimmers, and it definitely shows in some fights. In fact, she's nigh-unstoppable if the battle spills over into a large enough body of water, zipping around at high speeds and swimming spheres around opponents before going in for vicious slashes with her sword! Speaking of her sword, her preferred weapon, the Rain Dancer, has the same enchantment her armor does, its stats going up when wet or submerged.

As far as timelines go, you have a few options: Up above is all information relevant if you intend to play within the SAO game. Before or after the fiasco in the virtual floating castle of Aincrad, things are significantly different, taking a more slice-of-life turn. In the real world, Aegean's name is Ai Skida, the captain of her swim team who has a number of rumors about her sleeping with her fellow teammates every other Saturday. In appearance, she looks more-or-less the same as far as build and hair length go, but her hair is a chocolate brown, and her eyes are red.

This next paragraph is reserved for the Wreck-It Ralph x Sword Art Online timeline she can be placed in.

ZergAlts, away!
