Traditional summoning of The Green Fairy

1. Start by pouring a quantity of Feyfolk Absinthe into the glass equal to about one fifth of its capacity. About an ounce to an ounce and a half is common. With experience, you will determine the best absinthe-to-water ratio for your taste.

Step 2. Place the spoon across the rim of the glass, with the notch of the spoon resting on the rim and place a sugar cube upon the spoon.

Step 3.If you are using a carafe, begin by pouring a small amount of water onto the sugar, saturating it. Allow it to sit for a minute or two so that the sugar begins to loosen and dissolve on its own. Then begin slowly drizzling a very slender stream of water onto the sugar cube, allowing the sugar to gently run into the absinthe.

Step 4. Gingerly sip the drink, As you do so, and if your offering is performed properly, The green fairy will reveal herself and speak with you while you enjoy your drink.

What is 'The Green Fairy'

Fata Artemisia absinthium, better known as 'The Green Fairy' is known to humans as a mythological being, even in terms of the feyfolk. It is said that if one happens to find a bottle of Absinthe fashioned by the feyfolk themselves, they may actually speak to the queen of all Home-dwelling feyfolk, those fey who live in humanoid homes, Absinthe herself.

Many have claimed to have spoke to Artemisia Absinthe, but the truth of the matter is, she simply has not spoke to anyone in years. Most do not believe in the feyfolk, and even those who do and interact with them do not believe the myths of 'The Green Fairy' as the drink itself is a well known hallucinogen.

They could not be further from the truth. The green fairy does exist. She does come to those who can find her bottle of absinthe, and even if they myths do not speak of her all that much...she is a very, very powerful fairy, easily one of the strongest, even if she does still swear her fealty to Titania.

Physiology

There is only one 'Green Fairy', to put it bluntly. It is as the image shows, a beautiful green haired girl with beautiful pink eyes that almost seem to stare into your soul. Always smiling, she seems to be filled with mirth whenever one summons her, and often can be found giggling into her hand at the silliness of anyone drunk. Even if most cannot see her, needing the ritual or -incredibly- strong spiritual abilities, she often frequents bars, as seeing mirth-filled taverns and pubs are something of an enjoyment to her.

Her wings are often seen, and though small and inconsequential looking, are easily able to allow her to fly. The scent of Anise and burning sugar always seems to be around her, as she represents Absinthe of all kinds, and many still burn the sugar before letting it rush in, even if it will not properly summon her, as such...her scent has changed over the years.

Personality

Artemisia is a playful, yet lonely girl. It has been years since anyone, other than other fairies, has seen her and this fact bothers her to no end. She actually is quite the friend of humankind, and if anyone ever managed to summon her, they would find it hard to rid themselves of her, as the ritual is permanent.

They will see her long after the beverage's effects have lost their grip. At one time, she only allowed herself to be seen during its effects, back when feyfolk absinthe was plentiful...but now? Now she is lonely...and takes great care to do anything she can to make sure those who can see her, do so.

Abilities

Dust

Her dust acts as a burned sugar, adding the flavor and tasting quite sweet, without any bad effects. Ironically, this ability is different compared to most fairies who use dust as a defense mechanism, as she has no need for one.

Charm

A -powerful- charm that can increase or inflict the effects of the traditional Absinthe onto a person. It can merely cause the drunken hallucinogen, but with enough power, it can also cause Acute renal failure if she desires it, killing someone attempting to harm her.

Magic

She is a -powerful- mage, able to manipulate liquids of all kinds and cast numerous spells. Most of her magic revolves around her court's abilities, the manipulation and creation of food and drink, but the most power comes when she has any alcohol at her disposal.

No direct magic spells will be described as she tends to work on the fly with them.

Wish

Her most powerful ability, and the most -powerful- ability fairies can have. Only Queens of the faefolk may grant wishes, a power bestowed upon them by Titania herself. She is one of these queens, and so long as she is summoned properly, entertained lovingly, and treated with the kindness she desires....One will be granted any wish by her, so long as it does not upset the balance of the world.
