Abel_Felis

Abel is a creature known as a velpane, a creature from another world, separate and far different from the nexus filled with far more bizarre and fantastical creatures than the velpane. One of specific mention is the race Abel knows even more than his own, the felain, the species of Abel's childhood friend, Leon_Felis.



The Velpane

The velpane are a sentient race, who behave similar to tribal civilisations. Their most apparent features in biology are small stature similar to that of a fox, two horns sprouting out of their heads, long manes on both males and females and the ability to walk on both two and four legs. It can often be the case they lose the ability to walk on two legs as they age. Although each group is different, all velpane have two behavioural common traits; wanderlust and an addiction to warmth. They also all share these abilities; digestion resistance, arcane magic and heat digestion (spare/waste products are burned up in the stomach to provide heat rather than stored or defecated).

Velpane work in small family-based packs each completely different to the next and usually consist of five to fifteen Velpane. It is not uncommon for multiple families to work together. These groups will often consist of one parent and their offspring as Velpane are known to abandon their mates to further their group's growth with other mates or pairings for their children. However, this does not mean all Velpane abandon their mates, they are capable of settling down but their wanderlust will always pull them to travel.

They are completely incapable of mating with their own species and have to search out for other races to mate with. They do not mate in a way you would normally expect but, instead gorge themselves on immense amounts of food in conjunction with another creature's seed or eggs. They will then use their mate's stomach or womb as a nest of sorts throughout the birthing process where the nutrients from the food will provide the means to grow a new batch of tiny velpane. Their babies will often be no bigger than a human's fist.

Biology

Velpane biological constructs can differ within the race however are usually very similar. The main differences often reflect their non-velpane parent. Abel's non-velpane parent was a creature very similar to a mix between a nymph and a satyr. This granted him no difference in biology to the 'standard velpane' however has given him several magical abilities, allowing him to manipulate a being's body. His 'base appearance' is clearly visible and he will usually be found like this. He stands at about three feet tall on two legs with a tail usually extending beyond his height. His tail is a feature you will rarely see the same length twice.

Internally he is similar to earthen mammals with a few differences. His lungs are far more efficient and contains two extra storage areas, allowing him to hold oxygen for incredibly long periods while his body often uses very little oxygen. He lacks intestines, his digestive system containing no more than a oesophagus, 'stomach' and another oesophagus like tube that runs down to his anus. Food will not usually escape his body once it has been ingested as his stomach can burn almost any material but he does have complete control over his digestive system thanks to his magic. Velpane do not have genitalia as their stomachs act similarly to a womb, however he identifies as a male. Abel is capable of granting himself any body part he requires.

Magic

Not only can Abel change his own shape, but also others around him based on what he calls their 'soul bond'. He can do far more to someone he has known for a very long time, but very little to someone he as just met. Tripping a few nerves or manipulating a singular limb is about the extent of his powers when confronting a stranger. This is achieved through Abel's manipulation over matter, not through creating more or the destruction of matter. He can relocate matter from one place to another, stretch it or compact it. This means if he shrinks or grows someone, they will still weigh the same and be constructed of the same amount material unless he directly removes or adds some. He's not capable of detaching mass from a person with this ability but can add mass from other sources, usually food. This ability also allows him to manipulate systems in the body with a strong enough 'soul-bond'.

He has also gained the ability to talk to people with a strong enough soul-bond with him through their mind, he can also uphold a few hours worth of conversation by providing himself with a voice box. The feat is rather difficult however, and because of this he limits himself to doing it for only an hour or two a day as it will put heavy amounts of pressure on the features of his neck, such as the jugular vein/artery and breathing canal. He can however talk to any and every creature telepathically if exposed to them for an day or so, this is sped up dramatically if he can ingest some of their blood.

He also has a good hold on his natural magic that almost all velpane have. This includes some sort of glyph magic to conjure several arcane spells.

Personality

Abel isn't something you'd consider normal, not in society anyway. His behaviour wouldn't often be 'acceptable' nor, at times, predictable. Leon has often described the small mammal as a hazard to itself. He will often force himself inside people he hasn't even met all in the name of comfort and warmth. His lack of speech is, in Leon's terms, the only thing keeping him from being mauled by dangerous creatures, that and his rather agile nature. His sheer dismissal of typical methods of survival such as storing food, avoiding dangerous creatures and a rather large one being, not getting eaten, provides for interesting interaction with dangerous predators and will often manage to make even the hardest of monster feel just slightly inferior. Amongst normal people he will often be regarded as the cute little pet who wants nothing more but a full belly (or being in one) and hugs. He's not above manipulating people to achieve what he wants or simply forcing it upon them. It's not particularly uncommon for people he meets to soon have his long tail dangling out of one of their orifices, whether they like it or not. He's also rather fond of drawing!
