It all started as a normal day for Zumai, working as a nurse in the city hospital. Nothing out of the ordinary, everything was pretty much routine. She was just sat in the rec room having her lunch when someone walked in, saw her and freaked out. Apparently the last bite of her sandwich, there was a spider sat on the side opposite to her so unknown to her she ate and swallowed it. Turned out the colleague was more freaking at the spider and not her eating it.

It wasn't until later on that anything strange seemed to happen. By accident she nicked her finger on a scalpel and as she lifted it to her lips to suck the blood clean, she soon realised that when she looked again the wound was gone. It was as if nothing had happened. It was a couple of occasions more before she wondered if she was healing herself but watching one carefully made cut, she didn't see it heal. Quickly licking the blood off she got up to search for a plaster when she realised it was only now healing, and another test later she worked out it was her saliva healing the wound.

The following morning was when something else happened. She woke up bound to her bed in what seemed like webbing. Thick webbing too, whatever made it was certainly much bigger than the common house variety. It seemed too strong for her to break as well, at least until she realised that the webbing around her mouth was dissolving, and seemed rather sweet too. Some moments later the rest of it seemed to be breaking down and she began to pick at it like candy floss until she'd eaten the last piece of it. Having the same experience the next few nights, she wondered if she was actually making it herself while she slept.

Some weeks after, she has learned to control herself, and no longer wakes up to a cocoon. She has worked out that she secreted a form of webbing in her sweat, and also was able to release a chemical that would break this webbing down too at will also. With this, she has managed to climb a wall without a ladder, and stick to clear surfaces that nothing else would. She's also discovered that while she can sustain herself on regular food, she's developed a taste for blood too.
