ETA ::Profile (Scaletail)

Scaletail is a Scaleslither Snake (Scaleslither is an OC race of mine, a form of sentient reptiles with various magical tricks. The Scaleslither Snakes' domain is deception and illusion magic. The name Scaleslither is derived from "Skinwalker".) Hir natural form is a large blue snake with green eyes, blue tongue, and black insides, about five meters long and half a meter wide. Hi is anatomically correct for a snake, besides possessing both male and female reproductive organs.

Scaletail's chief ability is a shapeshifting spell essentially universal amongst Scaleslither Snakes. Hi can assume the form of any sapient being. Such a transformation is cosmetic only, and does not change body temperature or the appearance or color of Scaletail's tongue (blue). It also does not grant any magic-based abilities belonging to the person, such as a pegasus pony's flight (wings too small to fly without magic) or a unicorn or wizard's magic. Scaletail's strength and speed remain the same in any form. In order to perform this spell, Scaletail must possess an item belonging to the person hi is imitating. Hi often imitates past prey, and keeps an item from them in order to "own" their body in all forms.

Scaletail primarily speaks Common and Reptile, but also can use the primary language of the form hi assumes.

Hi rarely appears in hir natural form at first, instead choosing to lure prey into an isolated situation before transforming back, subduing, and consuming them.

Scaletail's saliva has magically psychoactive properties on contact which cause a euphoria, often inducing victims to become relaxed and the sensations of being swallowed and digested to even be pleasant. This effect is constant whether in a transformed state or not. In hir snake form, hi possesses two fangs which deliver a venom containing the same compounds as hir saliva, only in much higher concentrations. The effects of these compounds can be resisted by a character with extreme willpower or constitution, but Scaletail will try hir best to persuade them to "give in to their predator". Scaletail's saliva and venom also cause short-term memory loss, in the rare case of reforming prey.

Scaletail's personality is best described as "dominating, intelligent, sociopathic predator with an ego the size of a planet." Hi is quite good at faking personality traits in order to suit hir disguise, and often plans out hir "hunts" in advance, taking a specific form and luring prey to a predetermined kill room. Scaletail could survive eating animals, but feels the urge to consume intelligent beings much like a serial killer feels the need to kill.

Scaletail almost always reveals hir true nature to hir prey before swallowing them if they ask. Scaletail loves to explain how hi is superior and the victim needs to accept their role as hir prey and submit in order for hir to "be gentle". However, in reality, Scaletail doesn't much act much more gentle; the process of submission weakens the victim's will and allows them to succumb to the effects of the saliva, giving the apparent impression that Scaletail is being gentle from the now-pleasant feeling of being swallowed and digested.
