What drives a person to be who they are? When the night is cold, and the Ins are full, what drives someone to move on? Motivates them to keep moving forward no matter what? For some this concept can be something simple setting small goals pushing that yardstick a little bit each time. For others, making huge leaps trying to put themselves in positions of power, and for others, it's seeing how far down the ladder one can push someone. So where does Risty sit on this spectrum? For that, we will have to go into her past to find out why Risty's determination seems to flow out of every fiber of her being.




House Lao was a small city state that bordered elvish lands. A land that focused it's efforts on crafting one of the hardest metals used in their weapons. A sword crafted from Lao was said to be sharp enough to cut clean through forged steel by a steady hand. and Shields strong enough to deflect dragon flame. These precious metals were sought the world over, her people taking strong pride in their craftsmanship though never telling the secret as to how Lao metal was forged to be so strong.


Eventually Queen Meridith of Everon, the current Matriarch to which all the city states fell beneath began to request more, request and requisition enough swords and shields to field a massive army. And when Lao refused knowing that Meridith had planned to use these weapons to control her people through force brought the furry of the Queen down upon them, one night was all it took, the battle was over and Lao, a once proud people vanished into the night.


Should someone visit the city now, they would find destroyed buildings and quiet forges which the Elfroot trees were trying to reclaim to the earth, a picturesque yet somber sight of the queens wrath.


Risty born a Nobel in House Lao would be the heiress of her people, from a young age Risty learned her place in the world, she attended all the classes she was instructed to, and enjoyed wandering through the streets of Lao, her people loved her and treated her with kindness, as her mother and father treated them.

Risty was ten years old when Lao was attacked, forced to hide as her family went to fend off those that would sack Lao, the battle seemed to rage on late into the night, though soon the sounds of battle died out and Lao would be silent.

After the battle that destroyed Lao Risty was left to fend for herself, when she came up for air and Lao was still burning she moved through the streets, it was there she found her mother a long spear pressing out of her abdomen, a pool of cooling blood surrounding her. Risty wept that day for hours realizing that her family was gone, and by the looks of the battle there wasn't many left of her people, those that survived likely would never come back to this place. Stripping her mothers armor from her body buried her in the courtyard outside a home she grew up loving.


Lost and confused Risty Left Lao, it wasn't long until she was found by a traveling merchant, she never said her name, though the merchant could tell she was a child of Lao, and so, he carried her to the next town where she was left in the care of the churches. There she grew, and there she learned of what happened. As she turned eighteen she left the church and made the journey back to Lao once more. Making it back to see the burnt out city, a city which nature was trying hard to reclaim. moved back up to her old home, and there having found where she left her mothers armor claimed it as her own, with a new mission in sight, to make those who did this to her pay.

With no training, and no experience she donned her mothers armor and ventured out into the world.
