The Unnatural State of Things; Or, The Rise and Fall and Rise and Fall and Rise of the Fisher Baroness; Or, Huge Tracts of Land; Or, Esteem Without Love

Presenting Lady Daniella Aldridge Conrad Grady Obrove, baroness of Wisteria Acres Livestock Wholesale and Golf Course! The feed trade obviously came first, instated by her late husband, Ronald Dopherman. After the unfortunate accident that resulted in his death, Daniella inherited the property and bought out adjacent land in order to open a resort. Under the Lady's care, the growing fields are kept sunny and conditions on the turf remain favorable for play any time of the year.

So long as miss Obrove keeps in good spirits, that is.

Ronald noticed early on in their marriage, and the workers tilling the fields noticed soon after, that growing conditions had become far more favorable once Daniella was moved in and settled at the manor. The sun consistently shone, but never scorched the crops, and rain came, almost as if on schedule, but it was always light and never threatened to flood the property. Ronald knew his bride was something of a lay-sorceress. As a lady born into nobility, she was allowed to take time to dabble in a little magic when she wasn't being taught the skillsets typical of a lady of high standing. He quietly attributed his farm's well-being to her subtle magic. The good fortune didn't last, however. A year after their marriage, around the time of the start of the next growing season, the young couple fought as young couples will, a heated row that ended in tears for Daniella, with no resolution, and she secluded herself in a private wing of the manor.

The next few weeks were hell for growing. The winter chill returned, uncharacteristic for this late in the spring, and the earth was frozen and resistant to tilling. What sprouts had begun to show were destroyed by the cold, and hail pummeled the recent expansion to the property, Ronald's prized apple orchards. To add insult to injury, a swarm of locusts came to pick at whatever was left. This couldn't stand. Ronald realized that his bride certainly had some part in this, and he almost had half a mind to brand her as a witch and see her done with. He couldn't do it, though. Ronald had a soft heart and he genuinely loved his Daniella. As well, he was afraid of repercussions if she was truly a witch. He made amends for the fight and asked that she please return the land to the prosperity of their first year.

Daniella had no idea what he was talking about, but she was happy, and she agreed.

The good times persisted until Daniella was struck with a life-threatening fever. Ronald counted it as no coincidence when drought seared the fall's yield and his (Recovered) orchards wilted. She eventually recovered, but the plants did not. Ronald had holdings enough to fall back on, but this was a year's harvest lost. Something had to be done.

Ronald sought her father's council. As it happened, individuals in Daniella's family being born with empathetic ties to the land on which they lived was not an uncommon occurrence. The influence of these gifted few could shift from area to area, but only if the land held sentimental value. The senior Obrove was well aware of his daughter's unique effect on the land, and getting rid of her was part of why he had agreed to her and Ronald's engagement. Better to face the elements as they came than have to place hope in the shifting moods of his daughter. Daniella's father was certain Ronald could do a better job of keeping her happy anyway, and if not, that wasn't the old man's problem anymore.

Ronald was able to keep Daniella content, sure, but she was bored. A grey cloud cover persisted over the estate that kept the sun at bay and was perhaps even worse than frost and drought. She was not content to play housewife. In fact, she wanted to play a part in running the estate. Ronald, concerned for the farm's output, relented and taught her the business. They were happy, and it seemed that once again Wisteria Acres would flourish.

And it did. Even after Ronald's mysterious accident, his widow's mourning only brought somewhat heavier rainfall than normal, rather than catastrophe. It seemed that the best thing for the Dopherman estate was for it to fall under the sole management of Daniella Obrove.

The Hither and Thither Expanded; Or, Drawing Back the Curtain!

Daniella Obrove is the alternate universe analogue of the near-fully-realized illusionist prince, Danny Obrove. She is not the young man's past self, his blood relative, or a close acquaintance. She's the Obrove specific to Wisteria Acres, whereas Danny is the defender of a future version of Wisteria City.

Far less refined Obroves can be found by viewing their alt list, here. But why would you ever want to seek a lesser alternative?

There are more "Danalogues" to come, eventually, so we kindly ask that you...
