Hamlet's body is just like that of a standard naga, with a select few complex exceptions.
The most obvious is his ability to give off light all down his body through the use of bioluminescence, as well as the existence his two sensitive antennae. These lights can be used as dim illumination, or more importantly, to dazzle prey. Other nagas, mersharks, mermaids, avians, all are very susceptible to the hypnotic display. However, humans are immune—unless they suffer from epilepsy; in which case the light show will more likely give them a seizure. The lights normally flash in a rippling strobe pattern, but they can be lit in any manner he desires. The intensity and the pattern reflects his mood when they are active. However, he only uses them while either passively hunting, or if he's trying to escape another oceanic predator.
Another of his traits is the combination of gills and lungs. He has gills at the sides of his neck, usually hidden by his hair, but he can close up those gills entirely (making the slits on his neck nearly disappear) while he utilizes lungs while on land. He's also capable of spending prolonged periods of time on land, while other oceanic creatures such as some mersharks cannot leave the water for too long or they dry up and perish.
In addition, Hamlet's scales aren't like that of a regular snake, or even a fish. To the touch, they feel more like an eel's skin more than anything else; soft and smooth. He also possesses a tail fin to help propel himself through the water, which no land naga possesses.
The next feature is the way his digestive system is set up. Like most land nagas, he has two stomachs, but the first stomach is located in the thick upper region of his tail rather than his torso. It is also fully capable of digesting meat. His second 'stomach' is further down his tail, but it's less of a stomach and more of a sizable stretch of intestines. Prey is usually dead by the time they reach this part, being slowly pushed through his intestinal track as the path gets more and more narrow while all the nutrition is squeezed out of the mush that remains before entering the large intestines at the very end of his tail. The rest of his anatomy in terms of his digestive system is quite standard. After the large intestines absorb any liquid, waste is pushed into the colon and out the anus just under the lower end of his tail.
The final unusual feature is technically also a part of his digestive track—but one wouldn't know that just by looking at him. The slit below his waist which contains the reproductive system of all nagas serves as both a sheath to protect his manhood from the environment as well as a second mouth of sorts. Almost in an unbirthing-like manner, Hamlet is capable of swallowing prey who he manages to get into that slit of his. Inside there is a passage like an esophagus that leads directly to his stomach. When he's erect, his shaft blocks this passage, but otherwise he can relax the opening to shove a helpless meal inside, then using continued muscle contractions, he can suck the prey right in. Usually he uses his mouth only because he can taste his food, but if a meal tastes bad enough (such as scavenged corpses) or if he's just playing with them to feel them squirm, he'll use this passage. The fang-like bioluminescence patterns on his hips aren't just for show after all...
