Living in the jungles of
Amazonia is a species of demi butterflies called Monarchettes. Named after the monarch butterfly despite not always having the wing pattern of one, Monarchettes are a race to be feared. Their long tongues are used to probe the brains of their victims, draw them out, and feed them to their caterpillars; even when not eating brains, they are still rather predatory. Gypsy, like other monarchettes, like to hang around areas where a caterpillar girl might be. Monarchettes do not keep track of who laid what eggs, so they treat all caterpillar girls like their daughters until they emerge from the cocoon as butterflies.
