.It's known that Alice Jan Rice has a bit of a temper problem. To understand why, let's take a trip through Alice's childhood.
Now, Alice is a tall girl. I don't know how tall she was when she was a kid, but nowadays she's around 6'2". It was exactly this lankiness that earned her ridicule from the other girls during her elementary school years. They called her nicknames such as 'Beanpole' and 'Licorice' (which still hangs over her head to this day), and she took it... Quite violently. Instead of taking it quietly and maybe sobbing in her room after school, or telling an adult about the whole thing, she lashed out at the people who were bullying her. This lead to many a schoolyard scrap where her parents had to be called in. Even if she did get in a lot of trouble for those incidents, at least the other girls stopped calling her names.
However, her little temper problem persisted to high school. While she wasn't openly hostile towards the other students, her parents figured that the best way to counteract this problem was to get her into something that would use her anger in a more positive way. That something was Judo, but predictably, it didn't help. In fact, teaching a girl with a temper problem a martial art made it even worse.
When she reached college, Alice made a conscious decision to to take a different direction when it came to managing her temper. Instead of getting into something that used her anger 'positively' (cause that worked out so well last time), she decided to get into something that made both her and the people she did it on much, much calmer. So Alice became a masseuse. And that's where we are now.
If you want to find Alice, she can be found in class, or in her dorm room, surrounded by video tapes of music videos and live performances by every 80's hair metal band known to man. (Hand-me-downs from her older brother... Don't ask.) If she can't be found in either of those places, she's usually out working various odd jobs to pay for her next tuition; working the counter at the local fast food place, trying to sell you socks at the local department store, or, of course, giving people massages at the local massage parlor. While the massaging has helped her somewhat with her temper, she still has the odd outburst every now and again, but people agree that she just gives the most heavenly of massages...
