Adon Moonflower is an "Argaian", a member of a tribe of deer people known as The Argai that once lived in the Gaian Stretch, a famous (and infamous) stretch of wilds inhabiting the far north.
He is a free spirit, travelling freely and singing, dancing within the hallowed walls of nature that surround him on a daily basis...as well as things one might consider more occult.
You see, Adon is not only an Argaian, but he also a Ceru, a kind of druid/shaman that once served as the priests and spiritual leaders of The Argai in times past...well, that is, a Ceru in training anyway!
Living alone with his father Katan in a lodge hidden deep in the forests of the Gaian Stretch, Adon learns the ways of the Ceru...from his father, who is the last surviving Ceru in the world. With predation upon The Argai, modern technology and culture luring them out into the modern world, and a general disinterest for the nigh-forgotten ways of the Ceru, Katan and Adon...are the last living members of The Argai still alive within the stretch, and the last Argaians who still follow the Ceru Path.
As you might imagine, it is a lonely existence! Adon is always happy to meet new people, new forest friends, and anyone, and I mean anyone he considers to be ...sexy. Or cute. Or hot, or...
..Well. Adon is a young buck with surging hormones. You all know how that goes!
While Adon may feel free to travel naked, usually this is not the case. Adon by default wears clothes native to The Argai people, as well as the trappings of the Ceru caste which he is being brought up in.
These include:
-Gold threaded, viridian ankle and calf wraps.
-Vine fish-net stockings, which his father continually throws away. (Not often)
-A viridian loincloth that appears like a long, supple leaf, but it merely looks that way because of how it's made. The "veins" in it are gold, and the green belt that holds it is threaded with gold..along with a strong tri-spiral symbol of green metallic ink emblazoned onto a golden moon buckle.
-A few brown cloth satchels at his sides, containing shamanic substances, food, and other little toys that entertain the teen.
-A vine fishnet blouse, which his father continually throws away. (Not often)
-Viridian hand/wrist/forearm wraps, threaded with gold.
-A viridian "leaf" style blouse that wraps around his upper chest, along with leaf-styled pauldrons of leather, each emplazoned with the tri-spiral in the golden moon, along with the same emblem in the middle of the chest.
-Makeup, which he continually has to find/buy due to his father. (Not often)
-A gnarled old wooden staff that curls into a clubbed spiral at the end. It is wrapped in viridian wraps, with two long, sparkling golden feathers blowing in the wind near the top. Near the bottom, the wraps tie off, and their frays hang loosely there.
-Golden moon tri-spiral earrings. (Sometimes, depending on his father...)
A Ceru...a spiritualist, a mystic, a spiritual leader to his/her people, a druid, an oracle of nature, a shaman of the woods...what are they?
This section deals more closely with what Adon is actively learning from his father Katan, and what it means to him, and what it may very well mean to those he encounters!
A Ceru is best described from the outset as a Druid/Shaman...they not only commune with the spirits of the animals, of the plants and the trees...but of the land, of the earth and water, wind and fire. They speak to the sky, they call rain to their crops, and thunder to their enemies...in legend, anyway.
There are NO surviving records of the Ceru actually being able to do any of these things, that are reliable. Like floating or teleporting buddhist priests or hindu priests, it is an artifact of legend that the modern man or woman discards as a fairy tale.
But fairy tales have a power all their own, and in young Adon's mind, they are as real as any science, as any technology.
Adon, for better or worse, believes forests and jungles are sacred. That the elements are sacred, that all life is sacred, and that all move within the great spirit of life they call "Gaia".
Why he believes and behaves the way he does is greatly influenced by his father Katan, who teaches the old ways to his son, and also tries to teach him, in vain, to be more manly...ah well. He works with what he's got!
