Once upon a time there was a white circus monkey that got a hold of a special helmet. This helmet made the monkey incredibly intelligent, and with his newfound intellect, he rounded up all the other monkeys, outfitted them with similar helmets, and set a grand world domination plot into motion. However, the wicked ape was brought to justice by a boy with spiky hair, and the helmet was confiscated. ...Yet somehow, the monkey got his hands on the helmet again on two more occasions, re-attempting his takeover in new ways, but was again stopped by more spiky-haired kids and their assorted gadgets. Those gadgets were the key to defeating these simians, like the Monkey Radar and especially the Time Net. What kid wouldn't want to have cool stuff like that?
Well, these two kids heard all about those cool gizmos, and they wanted them!
Clive is the younger of the duo, by a few weeks anyway. He's a street urchin, as it would happen, despite his choice of clothing. (You wouldn't -believe- what some bratty noble boys will have thrown out in the city he lives in just because they outgrew it! Sure it's a bit too big for Clive himself, but still!) He's been one for most of his life, really. Parents? He doesn't talk about them much, really, though he insists they're not dead. Still, he's certainly not with them... and, well, that leads to the usual sort of life for a poor boy in the streets. Long days of hunting, a decent bit of thievery, a fairly commonly empty belly...
However, this particular street urchin has two things: a natural aptitude for most things thievish, and his best friend
Li. The two, in fact, somewhat coincide, even! Li's inventions often require rather odd or rare components... and after all the time they've known each other, Clive is more than willing to sneak around and swipe whatever Li needs for his latest project... truth be told, he might even be a bit smitten with the older boy.
That's how their latest little adventure started... a fairly simple day, really, leading to Clive sneaking into a certain lab. The alarm... went off pretty quickly, the urchin frankly way over his head, but before he left he swiped a few little toys.. among them a pair of nets. His contacts wouldn't buy them, so he took them and showed them to Li... and when the other boy realized what the nets actually did, he hatched a plan...
And now? Now, those nets have become a very important tool for the two... one for each, reborn under Li's delicate hands to perform a very different duty. Originally, the Time Net was created to capture rogue monkeys and return them to their natural time and place (as well as break their brainwashing by that white monkey). However, these? Well... anyone and anything that Clive or Li capture with their nets... goes straight into their waiting stomachs! (Yeah, could've seen that one coming...) Armed with this new technology, soon the world itself will fall into these two boys' hungry bellies! ... okay, maybe not, but that net's plenty big enough to fit a person... and the boys have trained their bellies to hold and digest whatever they decide to "capture"~
Anything else about Clive? Well, don't expect to find out about his parents here, that'll have to come out in RP. He's actually a pretty friendly sort, though as petty as you'd expect a boy of his station and age to act. Expect him to have his net handy and swinging if you make him mad enough. That said, he's pretty gullible, and not as smart as he'd like to be. Still, he's got Li to think things through for him if he has a problem! (Usually.) He's also a pretty stealthy thing, considering his young age and short height, though really his thieving abilities are "above average" at best, despite what he'd tell you if asked. He doesn't have much in the way of friends either, though there's a loyal few he knows. And of course he has Li, always.
Oh, and he's quite good with animals. The dog in the picture above is a stray he picked up. (And no, he doesn't "practice" on them! Suggest that he does and you'll find out how tight a hungry street urchin's belly can be!)
